Authentic Ayurveda and a private houseboat through Kerala's backwaters
Prices & availability last updated: 17 March 2026
About this journey
This eight-day private tour explores Kerala's three zones — the colonial Cochin waterfront, the cool Munnar hill station and tea estates, and the peaceful backwater network at Alleppey. Ayurveda doctor consultation and personalised treatment sessions are included in the Munnar hill stay. An overnight private houseboat through the Vembanad backwater labyrinth, with a crew and chef on board, provides a deeply restorative finale. Private vehicle and guide throughout; all meals on houseboat included.

Kerala was everything I hoped for and more. The overnight houseboat on the Alleppey backwaters was sublime — gliding through the canals in the evening light, our chef making fresh Kerala curry on board. The Ayurveda consultation in Munnar was genuinely restorative, not just a spa massage. Globalduniya's arrangements were impeccable.
Frequently asked questions
Every Globalduniya India journey is fully private. Your vehicle, guide, and daily schedule are yours exclusively — no joining other groups, no compromises on pace or routing. We do not operate shared-coach or SIC departures for our India inbound programme.
Yes. All airport arrivals and departures within your itinerary are covered by private transfer with your dedicated driver. If your plans change — an early flight, a late arrival — let us know and we will adjust accordingly.
Monument and heritage site entry fees are not included in the base land package price, which keeps your quote transparent. Fees at India's most significant sites are modest, and your guide will manage all payments at each location.
Domestic flights are not included unless explicitly stated in your itinerary. Where your routing requires air connections — to Leh, Varanasi, Kochi, or elsewhere — we can recommend and arrange these at cost alongside your land package.
International airfare is not included. This is a land-only package — you fly into India on flights of your choice and we manage everything from your arrival at the airport onwards. Our team can advise on recommended gateways.
The India tourist e-visa fee is not included. Most international travellers apply online before departure — the process is straightforward. Our team is happy to walk you through the application steps and advise on timing.
Absolutely — every itinerary we present is a starting point. We can add extra nights, adjust the pace, include alternative destinations, upgrade accommodation at specific stops, or design an entirely new route. Customisation is part of the service.
We work with handpicked properties selected for character, location, and quality of service. Depending on your chosen comfort tier, this ranges from well-appointed boutique guesthouses and heritage hotels to established luxury properties. Specific hotels are confirmed at the time of booking.
Yes. Daily breakfast at your hotel is included throughout the itinerary. Lunches and dinners are at your own pace and cost, giving you the freedom to explore local restaurants and street food at your leisure — your guide will always have recommendations.
It is an ideal choice for first-time visitors. Your private guide manages every detail on the ground — from navigating busy heritage sites to handling local logistics — so you can focus entirely on the experience. We also brief you thoroughly before departure.
Yes. Because this is a private journey, the pace, activities, and accommodation are adapted entirely to your group. We regularly arrange India travel for families with young children, senior couples seeking comfort and ease, and milestone anniversary or celebration trips.
Transfer distances vary by itinerary, and we build generous rest time into each day — the pace is never rushed. Walking at heritage sites is generally gentle on flat terrain, and larger sites such as Amber Fort offer optional transport within. Longer driving days are balanced with shorter sightseeing schedules.
October through March is generally the most comfortable season across northern, central, and Rajasthan. Kerala and South India are pleasant year-round, though the southwest monsoon (June–September) transforms the landscape beautifully if you are willing to embrace it. We will advise on the ideal window for your specific itinerary.
Yes. You will have a named contact at Globalduniya throughout your trip. In the event of any changes — flight delays, health concerns, or itinerary adjustments — our on-ground India team responds quickly and handles arrangements directly. You are never left to manage disruptions alone.
Travel insurance is not included but is strongly recommended for all international travel to India. We advise comprehensive cover including medical treatment, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and baggage protection. We are happy to suggest what to look for when choosing a policy.
