More wild tigers than anywhere on earth — and five other species worth flying for
India's Project Tiger programme, launched in 1973, has grown the wild tiger population from under 2,000 to over 3,000 today — more than the rest of the world combined. The reserves that shelter them are also home to leopard, wild dog (dhole), sloth bear, one-horned rhinoceros, Asian elephant, gaur (Indian bison) and 1,300+ bird species. A well-planned India wildlife itinerary covering two or three reserves can deliver sightings that rival Kenya or Sri Lanka at a fraction of the cost.
What makes the difference in India is the guide — specifically, a naturalist who understands tiger territory, reads pugmarks and scratch posts, and knows which zone to request from the forest department on any given morning. All Globalduniya safari guides are certified naturalists with a minimum of eight years in their reserve. We do not use general tour leaders who also do city tours.
Every safari jeep in our programme is privately booked — a 6-seat open-top Maruti Gypsy or Canter allocated exclusively to your group. This matters: you stop when you choose, stay as long as you want with a sighting, and your guide communicates freely with the forest department trackers without the compromises that come from managing a mixed group.

Ranthambore — Rajasthan
India's most photographed tiger reserve — UNESCO fort ruins inside the jungle give it a cinematic quality unlike anywhere else. Tigers are habituated to jeeps and frequently sighted near the three lakes at Rajbagh, Padam Talao and Malik Talao. 75+ resident tigers.
Bandhavgarh — Madhya Pradesh
India's highest tiger density reserve. Ancient hilltop fort, rock-cut Vishnu carvings deep in the jungle, and tigers frequently seen in the open meadow zones. Fewer visitors than Ranthambore. Also home to leopard, wild dog (dhole), sloth bear, and 250+ bird species.
Kanha — Madhya Pradesh
The park that inspired Kipling's The Jungle Book — vast meadow sal forest corridors, wild barasingha (swamp deer) breeding programme, gaur herds and resident tiger families. A 3-day stay gives the unhurried pace wildlife photography demands.
Pench — Madhya Pradesh / Maharashtra
Quiet, less-visited reserve straddling two states. Dense teak and bamboo forest. Excellent leopard and wild dog activity alongside tigers. A good partner to Kanha or Bandhavgarh for a 6–8 night central India wildlife circuit.
Kaziranga — Assam, Northeast India
Home to two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinoceros population. Also elephant, wild buffalo, swamp deer, and tigers. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Best combined with a tea garden homestay in Assam — a completely different India from the north.
Jim Corbett — Uttarakhand
India's oldest national park, established 1936. Ramganga river valley habitat — excellent for tigers, elephants and crocodile. Also one of India's best birdwatching parks with 600+ species. 5 hours from Delhi — ideal as a 2-night addition to a Golden Triangle trip.

8-night dual-reserve safari — outline
Day 1
Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Private transfer to hotel. Rest and briefing with your guide on the wildlife programme ahead.
Day 2
Delhi → Ranthambore
Morning flight or train to Sawai Madhopur. Afternoon check-in at wildlife lodge. Evening nature walk in buffer zone with naturalist guide.
Day 3–4
Ranthambore
Two full days of jeep safaris — dawn departure and dusk departure each day (4 safaris total). Zones 1–5 rotation for maximum habitat coverage. Expert naturalist guide throughout.
Day 5
Ranthambore → Kanha
Overnight train to central India or connecting flight via Bhopal/Nagpur. Arrive Kanha region. Check-in at forest lodge.
Day 6–7
Kanha
Four Kanha jeep safaris across meadow and sal forest zones. Barasingha herd, gaur, wild dog, tiger families with cubs. Optional village walk at dusk.
Day 8
Departure
Return to Delhi or extend to Bandhavgarh, Pench or Kaziranga. Post-safari city extension to Varanasi, Agra or Jaipur available.

What are the chances of seeing a tiger in India?
In a well-managed reserve like Ranthambore or Bandhavgarh with an experienced naturalist guide, your odds of a tiger sighting over 4 safaris are roughly 80–90%. We allocate zones strategically based on recent sighting reports. That said, tigers are wild animals and sightings are never guaranteed — we build itineraries across multiple parks to maximise your chances.
What is the best reserve for first-time safari visitors?
Ranthambore is the most accessible for first-timers — excellent road and rail connections from Delhi, reliable tiger sightings, luxury lodges, and the dramatic fort backdrop makes every photograph extraordinary. Bandhavgarh offers a slightly wilder feel with fewer tourists. For a pure wilderness experience, Kanha or Bandhavgarh in central India are our recommendation.
Are safari jeeps truly private?
Yes — all our safaris use privately hired gypsies (6-seat open-top jeeps) booked exclusively for your group. We do not put you in shared vehicles with other tourists. Your naturalist guide sets the agenda for each safari zone based on the latest tracking information from the forest department.
Can I combine a tiger safari with the Golden Triangle or Rajasthan?
Yes — Ranthambore sits naturally between Jaipur and Agra, making it easy to slot 2–3 safari nights into a Golden Triangle or Rajasthan circuit without backtracking. Many of our clients do 7 nights Rajasthan + 3 nights Ranthambore + 2 nights Agra as a 12-night India loop. We design the routing so every transfer is logical.
