I came to Kerala sceptical about Ayurveda and left a convert. The consultation at Fragrant Nature Munnar was thorough and personalised — they modified my entire treatment plan based on my constitution. The Munnar tea estates surrounding the property made morning walks extraordinary.

Three very different Kerala environments in one itinerary. Kochi was fascinating — the Chinese fishing nets at dawn, the Jewish quarter, the spice warehouses. Munnar in the morning mist was serene. And the backwater houseboat at sunset was the finale we had hoped for. CGH Earth Brunton Boatyard in Kochi was superb.

I booked my first proper solo trip at sixty-two and Kerala felt safe, manageable and deeply enriching. My guide Sunita was excellent company on the Thekkady forest trail. The Ayurveda massage at the Brunton Boatyard was exceptional — I slept better than I have in years.

Munnar ke tea gardens mein subah ki sair aur Alleppey backwaters mein houseboar par raat — dono hi experiences ekdum alag aur beautiful thay. Hamara guide bahut helpful tha aur food to ekdum mast tha. Kerala ki simplicity aur greenery hamare dil mein bas gayi.

The Fragrant Nature resort sits among tea terraces that go on forever in every direction. Our guide arranged a morning walk with the estate manager who showed us the rolling and withering process. Kerala food was also a revelation — we ate fish curry, appam and puttu every single morning.

The Brunton Boatyard's location in Fort Kochi made exploring on foot completely effortless. We walked to the Chinese fishing nets at five-thirty in the morning and had them almost to ourselves. Our guide's explanation of Kochi's trading history — Portuguese, Dutch, British — was fascinating.

Setting out on the Ganges just before sunrise, watching the city come alive on the ghats — the laundry wallahs, the bathers, the sadhus — and then the first light on the river. No photograph captures it. Our guide was respectful and very sensitive to the sacred nature of what we were witnessing.

Three nights at Ananda were enough to genuinely reset. The yoga teacher adjusted practice to our level without making us feel like beginners, the Ayurveda treatments were deeply effective and the Himalayan air is extraordinary. We tacked on Varanasi at the end and the spiritual thread ran beautifully through both.

A bold thing to put in a review but it is true. Watching the cremations at Manikarnika Ghat from the boat, with our guide explaining the Hindu philosophy of the soul's liberation, was genuinely affecting. Not macabre — celebratory and liberating. Taj Nadesar Palace was a remarkable base.

Hamne pehle bhi Varanasi dekha tha par is baar guide ke sath ghaton ka alag hi anubhav raha. Brijrama Palace se seedha ghat pe jaana — ye convenience bahut khaas thi. Rishikesh mein morning yoga bhi ek alag experience tha. Highly recommend.

We were worried that focusing on the spiritual aspect might feel forced or performative. It was neither. The sites chose themselves — Varanasi, Rishikesh, Sarnath — and each was profound in its own way. Brijrama Palace's ghat terrace became our meditation spot each morning.

Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Varanasi, Kochi and Mumbai. We have finally done India properly. The continuity of having one Globalduniya coordinator throughout — even as guides changed city by city — made the whole journey feel seamless. Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai as the finale was magnificent.

North India's Mughal grandeur, Varanasi's ancient spiritual intensity, Kerala's lush quiet and Mumbai's city energy — India contains all of this and we saw it all. Guide changes between cities were smooth and every guide clearly had deep personal knowledge of their region. A true grand journey.

Any one of those moments would be a trip highlight. To have both in the same journey, connected by great hotels and a superb coordinator, was extraordinary. Taj Nadesar Palace in Varanasi was a genuine discovery — we had not heard of it and it was exceptional.

Taj at sunrise, Varanasi ghats at dawn, Kerala backwaters at dusk, Mumbai Taj Mahal Palace dinner. We ticked every India bucket list item in one epic journey. Globalduniya understood what we wanted and delivered every single element. The Taj Lands End Mumbai on our last night was a great city stay.

Six cities means six regional guides and every one was knowledgeable, warm and genuinely invested in our experience. That is not easy to achieve across a country as diverse as India. The Brijrama Palace in Varanasi was a surprise favourite — the ghat access was extraordinary.

Oberoi Udaivilas, Taj Lake Palace, Aman-i-Khás and SUJÁN The Serai. Four properties that each feel like the centrepiece of a different novel. Our private guide Priya stayed with us throughout the entire circuit which created a rare sense of personal adventure. Every detail was anticipated.

We have stayed at Aman properties around the world but Aman-i-Khás has a quality that is hard to articulate. Perhaps it is the combination of the canvas pavilion setting, the tiger territory just beyond the perimeter and the extraordinary calm. Our jeep guide had the tiger's movements mapped to within metres.

Alleppey ke backwaters mein houseboat pe raat guzaari. Sone se pehle jo silence tha aur suba jo chirping the — woh moments hamesha yaad rahenge. Kerala ki greenery aur clean environment bahut refreshing tha. Khana bhi pure Kerala style tha, jo bahut tasty tha.

Ottawa's Parliament Hill, the Byward Market, the Canadian War Museum — our guide in Ottawa was passionate about Canadian history and it showed. Hotel Lord Elgin was a lovely period property with Parliament views. This itinerary would suit any guest who wants cultural depth alongside the icons.
