The Brunton Boatyard's location in Fort Kochi made exploring on foot completely effortless. We walked to the Chinese fishing nets at five-thirty in the morning and had them almost to ourselves. Our guide's explanation of Kochi's trading history — Portuguese, Dutch, British — was fascinating.

The Fragrant Nature resort sits among tea terraces that go on forever in every direction. Our guide arranged a morning walk with the estate manager who showed us the rolling and withering process. Kerala food was also a revelation — we ate fish curry, appam and puttu every single morning.

We added the Thekkady wildlife day almost as an afterthought but it became one of the highlights. Watching elephants at close range in a genuine forest setting, with a naturalist guide explaining the herd dynamics, was extraordinary. The Premium Houseboat on Alleppey that evening was a perfect finale.

Munnar ke tea gardens mein subah ki sair aur Alleppey backwaters mein houseboar par raat — dono hi experiences ekdum alag aur beautiful thay. Hamara guide bahut helpful tha aur food to ekdum mast tha. Kerala ki simplicity aur greenery hamare dil mein bas gayi.

I booked my first proper solo trip at sixty-two and Kerala felt safe, manageable and deeply enriching. My guide Sunita was excellent company on the Thekkady forest trail. The Ayurveda massage at the Brunton Boatyard was exceptional — I slept better than I have in years.

We chose Kerala for our honeymoon because we wanted something different from the typical Maldives or Bali option. It was the right choice. The Kettuvallam houseboat was private and beautifully set up — they had arranged rose petals and a candle arrangement on arrival. The Windermere Estate in Munnar was charming.

Kerala is the right destination if what you need is genuine rest. The pace is gentle, the food is extraordinary and the landscape is extraordinarily green after north India. Our houseboat captain was a brilliant host and the Thekkady wildlife drive added a lovely layer to the nature theme.

Three very different Kerala environments in one itinerary. Kochi was fascinating — the Chinese fishing nets at dawn, the Jewish quarter, the spice warehouses. Munnar in the morning mist was serene. And the backwater houseboat at sunset was the finale we had hoped for. CGH Earth Brunton Boatyard in Kochi was superb.

I came to Kerala sceptical about Ayurveda and left a convert. The consultation at Fragrant Nature Munnar was thorough and personalised — they modified my entire treatment plan based on my constitution. The Munnar tea estates surrounding the property made morning walks extraordinary.

Nobody warned us how quiet the Kerala backwaters are at night. No traffic, no city sounds, just frogs, birds and the occasional splash of fish. Our Kettuvallam luxury houseboat was beautifully equipped and the cook prepared a fresh Kerala fish curry that evening that was genuinely one of the best meals of the trip.

Pehli long trip together thi aur Globalduniya ne sab kuch perfect bana diya. Munnar mein morning mist ke beech chai, Thekkady mein jungle walk aur Alleppey mein houseboat pe raat — teen alag-alag romantic moments jo hum kabhi bhool nahi sakte. Shukriya!

We had not associated a wildlife sanctuary with romance until the Thekkady boat safari at dawn — mist on the water, elephants on the far bank, absolute silence broken only by birds. Our guide understood that we needed time without commentary and gave it to us generously.

Houseboat pe raat guzaarna sach mein addictive hai — baar baar jaana chahenge! Backwaters ki evening ka woh silence, captain ki rowing sound aur stars — sab mil ke ek complete package tha. Ayurvedic massage bhi arrange tha jo bahut relaxing tha. Perfect honeymoon!

We chose Kerala over the Maldives for our honeymoon because we wanted somewhere with depth beyond the beach. The Munnar hill stations, the Thekkady wildlife and the Alleppey houseboat gave us three completely different romantic environments. Best honeymoon decision we could have made.

Munnar ki misty mornings, Thekkady ki tranquil boat, Alleppey ki houseboat pe raat — teeno mein ek alag romantic aura tha. Guide ne kabhi intrude nahi kiya, privacy ka poora khayal rakha. Candle light dinner houseboat pe bhi arrange tha jo bilkul perfect tha. Best honeymoon!

We visited in August and were warned about monsoon. The rain made Kerala more beautiful, not less — the tea gardens steaming in the mist, the rivers running full, the backwaters green and lush. It felt completely authentic and uncrowded. Windermere Estate in the rain was magical.

Alleppey ke backwaters mein houseboat pe raat guzaari. Sone se pehle jo silence tha aur suba jo chirping the — woh moments hamesha yaad rahenge. Kerala ki greenery aur clean environment bahut refreshing tha. Khana bhi pure Kerala style tha, jo bahut tasty tha.

Our guide in Thekkady took us through a working spice garden — cardamom, pepper, nutmeg, cloves. Touching and smelling each plant and then tasting them in the lunch preparation was a completely immersive experience. Alleppey backwaters at dusk completed a perfect Kerala afternoon.

Thekkady mein spice plantation tour, Munnar mein tea garden walk aur Alleppey mein houseboat pe raat — teen experiences jo ek doosre se bilkul alag hain. Kerala ki green khubsoorti ne poori family ko aisa feel karaya jaise hum paintings mein ghoom rahe hain.

Winding roads through endless tea terraces leading down to the backwaters — Kerala delivers visual contrast that few destinations can match. The houseboat cook prepared a prawn curry with fresh coconut that we have been dreaming about since we returned. Windermere Estate in Munnar was beautifully located.
