Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about booking, visas, payments and what to expect on your journey.

logistics

Yes. Taj Mahal entry tickets for sunrise and/or standard visit are included for all guests. Audio guides are available at the gate for a small additional fee (₹118 for English).

Yes. The Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) never closes — the langar (free community kitchen) serves meals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The 2–4 am visit when the temple is illuminated and nearly empty is the most serene experience Amritsar offers.

The full Jaipur–Jodhpur–Jaisalmer–Bikaner route covers approximately 900 km by road. We break the drive into 2–3 hour maximum daily segments so no single day is a fatigue-inducing marathon. All vehicles are AC SUVs with charging points and water onboard.

Not with us managing the logistics. The overnight Vasco da Gama Express train takes approximately 9 hours — we book 2AC berths and it departs Goa at a reasonable evening hour, arriving in Hospet (4 km from Hampi) in the morning. Alternatively, a private car transfer (7–8 hrs) is available for those who prefer road.

The train journey from Vancouver to Banff or Jasper takes 2 full days (with an overnight hotel stop in Kamloops). The full Signature package includes 2 days of Rocky Mountaineer travel plus 3–4 nights in Banff and Jasper, making it a 7–8 night circuit total.

We recommend starting in Vancouver and ending in Calgary (flying home from Calgary Airport). This way you drive the Icefields Parkway from Banff northward to Jasper — the most dramatic direction for the views — and then fly home from Jasper or Calgary. We can arrange the itinerary in either direction on request.

No. Rohtang Pass (3,978m) is open approximately May to November and closes under heavy snow the rest of the year. Even in the open season, an environmental permit (₹600, we arrange) and early morning departure are required. We always confirm pass status 24 hours before your scheduled visit.

The helicopter from Katra to Sanjichhat replaces the steepest 12 km of the uphill trek, leaving only a 4 km walk from Sanjichhat to Bhawan. The downward trek from Bhawan to Katra is 14 km and must be done on foot (or by battery car on the concrete track). Total walking with helicopter: approximately 4 km up + 2 km down. Without helicopter: 14 km up + 14 km down.

Abu Dhabi is 140 km from Dubai — approximately 90 minutes by private coach on the E11 highway. We depart Dubai at 7:30 am to arrive in Abu Dhabi before the midday heat. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Palace, and Yas Island are all covered before returning to Dubai by 7 pm.

Udaipur is 400 km from Jaipur (5.5 hours by road) or 1 hour by domestic flight. On this itinerary, we include the domestic flight to keep the pace comfortable. Adding Udaipur extends the total circuit by 2 nights and brings the lake city experience — boat rides on Pichola, City Palace, and Udaipur's famous rooftop restaurants.

A Gypsy (6-seater open jeep) is used for Ranthambore safaris. All our jeeps are Forest Department-registered and driven by certified safari drivers with naturalist knowledge. No shared Canter (20-person bus) tours on this package.

Approximately 4.5–5 hours by private car on the Jodhpur–Barmer–Jaisalmer highway. The road is well-maintained and the landscape transitions from green Marwar plains to golden Thar sand dunes — the drive itself is part of the experience. We depart at 8 am to arrive before the midday heat.

The shrine is open 24 hours. Crowd levels are lowest between 2 am and 5 am, making the overnight ascent the most tranquil darshan experience. Day queues (9 am–3 pm) average 2–4 hours depending on the season. We recommend the pre-dawn arrival strategy for all our guests.

Approximately 2 hours by private air-conditioned coach on the Bang Na Expressway, depending on Bangkok traffic. We depart at 7 am to arrive before the mid-morning beach rush. Return to Bangkok (for the flight home) is by private coach with the same timing consideration.

This package starts in Bangkok (2 nights) and flies to Phuket (3 nights) mid-itinerary. Return flight is from Phuket. If you prefer to start in Phuket, the reverse sequence is available on request — but the Bangkok starting point allows more seamless connection from most Indian gateway cities.

All major museum tickets (Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Louvre, Uffizi, Eiffel Tower) are pre-booked timed entry. We book 30–60 days in advance to avoid gate queues which can be 2–3 hours at peak season. Your tickets are digital and accessible via the Globalduniya app on the day.

From Jaipur to Varanasi (950 km), we arrange a domestic flight (1.5 hours) via Delhi. Direct Jaipur–Varanasi flights are available on select days. The itinerary is sequenced around the most convenient flight connections for your travel dates. All domestic flight bookings are included in the package price.

We time the Agra visit to reach the Taj Mahal by 6:30–7 am (30–45 minutes after gates open). The soft morning light and thinner crowds at this hour are significantly better than arriving after 9 am when tour buses arrive. Taj Mahal gates open at sunrise.

Yes. Yatra registration is mandatory for all pilgrims — Indian and international. It is free and done online through the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board portal. We complete this registration on your behalf as part of our service. Your yatra slip is required at the Katra base checkpoint before the trek begins.

Yes. Genting Highlands sits at 1,800m above sea level with a consistent 18–22°C temperature year-round. Pack a light fleece or cardigan — it is refreshingly cool compared to KL's 32°C but not cold enough for a heavy coat. Indoor attractions (casino, theme park) are air-conditioned to 20°C, so layers are useful.

Hampi is 13 hours by overnight bus from Bangalore or accessible by the closest airport at Hubli (1 hour by road). The ruins of Vijayanagara are spread across 36 sq km of dramatic boulder landscape — we spend a full day covering the Royal Enclosure, Vittala Temple, and Hemakuta hill. Accommodation is in Hospet (11 km) at a quality hotel as Hampi village has limited suitable options.

wildlife

Ranthambore is India's most tiger-dense park with approximately 70 tigers across 10 zones. Sighting probability in peak season (October–April) is 65–80% per safari. We book zones with the highest sighting history to maximise your chances.

Bandhavgarh has the highest tiger density per square kilometre of any Indian park — roughly 1 tiger per 4 sq km in Zone 1. Kanha has more total tigers but a larger area. For first-time wildlife travellers, Bandhavgarh Zone 1 (Tala) gives the best odds. We allocate based on the latest zone data.

Based on our booking data over the past 5 seasons, 72% of our guests see a tiger on at least one of their 2 safaris. The rate rises to 85% for guests who book Zone 1 (Tala). Peak sighting months are February to April when vegetation has dried and tigers congregate around the fort lakes. We never guarantee sightings but we maximise every possible factor.

The Great Migration wildebeest river crossings (July–October) are one of nature's great spectacles but not a guaranteed daily event — crossings happen 3–7 times per week during peak season. We position our camp within 15 minutes of the main crossing points and brief guests on the morning of travel. We cannot guarantee a crossing; we can guarantee the best possible position to witness one.

Periyar is most famous for wild Asian elephants — seen at the lake edge on the boat safari most mornings. Sambar deer, Malabar giant squirrel, Nilgiri tahr (mountain goat), and over 320 bird species are regularly sighted. Tigers are present but rarely seen; the elephant herds are the defining wildlife experience.

Snow leopard sightings in Spiti's Pin Valley are possible year-round but peak in winter (December–March) when prey moves lower. Summer (June–September) offers occasional sightings near the snow line above 4,500m. We offer a dedicated 4-day Snow Leopard Winter Extension from Kaza with specialist naturalist guides.

Both Bandhavgarh and Kanha host leopard, sloth bear, gaur (Indian bison), sambar and spotted deer, wild dog (dhole), and over 250 species of birds including lesser adjutant and crested serpent eagle. Even on a tiger-free safari, sightings are extraordinary.

Rocky Mountaineer passes through some of the most wildlife-rich terrain in North America. Bald eagles, osprey, black bears, grizzly bears (in season), beavers, deer, and mountain goats are all regularly sighted from the train cars. The locomotive operator makes wildlife announcements; staff position you for the best viewing.

Yes. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary on the eastern shore of Vembanad Lake is accessible by country boat (30 minutes) from most houseboat moorings. We arrange the early morning bird-watcher's canoe at 6 am — herons, cormorants, darters, kingfishers, and migratory birds October–March. Entry fee is ₹100.

itinerary

Pushkar is included in the itinerary but the camel fair dates (November, lunar calendar) do not align with every departure. If your travel dates coincide, we incorporate the fair visit. If not, Pushkar's ghats and Brahma Temple are included instead.

For a first-time taste, yes. You will see the defining monuments at each city — Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Amber Fort, City Palace — with a good private guide and no wasted time. For a leisurely pace with hidden-gem exploration, we recommend the 7-night Golden Triangle Luxury Escape instead.

Yes. Golden Triangle with Varanasi covers Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal), Jaipur, and Varanasi — four of India's most iconic cities in a single 10-night circuit. The Varanasi section (2 nights) adds the Ganga Aarti and pre-dawn boat ride to what would otherwise be a purely heritage itinerary.

Himalayan Foothills & Spiritual India covers Rishikesh (yoga capital, Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat), Haridwar (Har ki Pauri evening Aarti), Mussoorie (Landour, Gun Hill, Mall Road), and the Doon Valley. Optional add-ons include Corbett National Park (wildlife) and Lansdowne (quiet hill station).

Rajasthan Grand Heritage Journey is 14 nights as standard, covering 6 cities: Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Udaipur (with Delhi arrival/departure). A 10-night condensed version (omitting Pushkar and Bikaner) is available. We recommend the full 14-night version for guests who want to experience Rajasthan without feeling rushed.

South India Temples & Heritage covers Chennai (arrival), Mahabalipuram (Shore Temple, Five Rathas), Thanjavur (Brihadeeswarar Temple), Madurai (Meenakshi Amman Temple), Mysore (Palace, Chamundeshwari Temple), and Hampi (Vijayanagara ruins). Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites are included. Total duration is 10–12 nights.

Tigers, Temples & Taj is our most comprehensive North-Central India circuit, running 14–16 nights. It covers Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal), Jaipur, Ranthambore (tiger safari), and Central India (Kanha or Pench national park). It is designed for travellers who want both the Mughal heritage circuit and a serious tiger safari in one journey.

Canada Rockies & Vancouver covers 3 nights in Banff (including Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Icefields Parkway drive) and 3 nights in Vancouver (Stanley Park, Granville Island, North Shore mountains). This is the most popular Canada combination for international visitors.

Toronto & Niagara Highlights includes 3 nights Toronto (CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Kensington Market, Hockey Hall of Fame), 1 day Niagara Falls (both sides — Canadian Horseshoe Falls and American Bridal Veil Falls from the Maid of the Mist boat), and 1 day Niagara-on-the-Lake wine region. All transfers are by private vehicle.

Udaipur receives 3 nights (most of any city), followed by Jodhpur with 2 nights. Jaipur, Pushkar, and Delhi each have 1–2 nights. We pace the itinerary so no day has more than one major monument visit — this is deliberate to avoid heritage fatigue.

Yes. A half-day Sarnath excursion is included on Day 4. The Dhamek Stupa (where Buddha gave his first sermon), the Sarnath Museum (best collection of Ashokan sculpture in India), and the archaeological site are all covered with a licensed guide.

Both. Hampi's Vijayanagara ruins (UNESCO World Heritage) are so visually dramatic — boulder landscapes, elephant stables, temple tanks, royal enclosures — that they engage everyone regardless of history interest. The 'Mars landscape' terrain alone makes it worthwhile. Our guide calibrates the depth of explanation to the group's level.

The most common selection is Paris → Amsterdam → Lucerne → Rome (or Paris → Barcelona → Rome). The itinerary is genuinely customisable — we can build any 7–12 night European circuit based on your interests, entry point, and exit airport. Tell us your priority experiences and we design around them.

The standard split is 3 nights Phuket and 2 nights Krabi. Guests who prefer more Phuket time (beaches, nightlife) can adjust to 4+1. Guests who prefer more Krabi time (rock climbing, sea kayaking, quieter beaches) can do 2+3. Both directions work logistically — ask us at booking for the adjustment.

Yes. A full-day Malacca excursion is included (3 hours from Kuala Lumpur by coach). UNESCO World Heritage sites: A Famosa Portuguese fort, St Paul's Church ruins, Stadthuys Dutch building, and the Baba Nyonya heritage museums. Malacca is the highlight of Malaysia's colonial history and one of Southeast Asia's most preserved old towns.

Standard allocation: France 3 nights (Paris), Switzerland 2 nights (Lucerne), Italy 4 nights (Venice 1 night, Rome 3 nights). Florence is typically a day trip from Rome (1.5 hours by Frecciarossa). Adjustments to the city split are available — guests who prefer more Italy or more France can request rebalancing.

Yes. Oslo (Norway) is one of the four capitals included alongside Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Helsinki. The itinerary moves city to city by high-speed rail (Öresund Bridge Copenhagen–Copenhagen) and short flights (Stockholm–Oslo), so you experience the inter-Scandinavian travel as part of the journey.

No — Ranakpur (UNESCO) falls directly on the road between Jodhpur and Udaipur. We stop for a 2.5-hour visit en route, making it a natural inclusion rather than a detour. The Jain marble pillars here are arguably more intricate than Dilwara Temple on Mount Abu.

McLeod Ganj is typically a 1-night stay in this itinerary, allowing you to explore the Namgyal Monastery, the Tibetan Library, and the market at your own pace. It is 30 km above Dharamsala town and is the base for Dalai Lama temple visits when His Holiness is in residence.

Absolutely. Bikaner's Junagarh Fort is one of Rajasthan's best-preserved and least-visited forts — no tour buses, no souvenir touts, genuinely uncrowded. The city's bikaneri bhujia and rasgulla are legendary. Karni Mata Temple (the rat temple) at Deshnoke is 30 km away and utterly unique.

The standard allocation is 4 nights in the Rockies (2 in Banff, 2 in Jasper or Lake Louise) and 3 nights in Vancouver. This can be adjusted — many guests prefer 5 nights in the Rockies and 2 in Vancouver if the mountain experience is the priority.

Kovalam Beach (Thiruvananthapuram) is included as a 1-night stay at the end of the itinerary, providing a beach finale to the hills-and-backwaters circuit. Varkala can be substituted for Kovalam on request — it is slightly further but more atmospheric for most travellers.

Seven major monasteries are on the standard itinerary: Key, Tabo, Dhankar, Kibber, Komic (highest inhabited village in the world, 4,587m), Pin Valley gompa, and Mudh village monastery. Our guide explains Buddhist iconography and ritual practice at each site — this is a living religious tradition, not just architecture.

inclusions

The first afternoon is a village canal exploration; the first evening is anchored at a quiet mooring with a cook's dinner on deck. The second day takes a different canal route.

Yes. A morning shikara ride (45–60 minutes) on Dal Lake is included every Srinagar morning. Our shikara boatman is a fixed partner — you have the same guide each time, which allows you to visit the floating market, lotus gardens, and vegetable village in a relaxed sequence across your stay.

Yes. The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) are included on Bangkok Day 1, with a licensed English-speaking guide. Strict dress code applies: no shorts, no sleeveless shirts, no flip-flops. Appropriate clothing is available to borrow at the gate. Allow 2.5–3 hours.

Yes. The Skybridge (Level 41, 170m, connecting the two towers) admission is included. We queue on your behalf as part of the morning logistics.

Included. The Flåmsbana (UNESCO candidate, 20 km mountain railway) from Myrdal to Flåm is one of the steepest railway lines in the world and is included in the Norway in a Nutshell circuit on this itinerary. The descent through Kjosfossen waterfall is a genuinely unforgettable 1-hour journey.

Yes. Stanley Park — 400 hectares of old-growth forest within Vancouver city — is included for a half-day with our guide. The totem pole collection, Prospect Point overlook, the Seawall cycling path, and the Children's Farmyard are all included. Bicycle rental for the Seawall (9 km loop) is available at the park entrance for approximately CAD $15/hour.

Yes. All domestic flights (Delhi–Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer–Jaipur, and any other air legs on this circuit) are included in the package price. We book economy class on SpiceJet, IndiGo, or Air India — upgrades to business class are available on request at additional cost.

The camel safari includes a sunset ride (2–3 hours) from Sam or Khuri dunes, a campfire dinner with Rajasthani folk music and dance, overnight camping in luxury tents (twin beds, private bathrooms), and a sunrise camel ride back. Camel safari guides are from the local Raika herder community.

Yes. The Whistler Peak 2 Peak gondola ride (valley to Whistler Mountain summit) is included. The seasonal glacier walk or sightseeing at Roundhouse Lodge is also included. Specific adventure activities (zip-lining, mountain biking) are optional at additional cost.

No. Rocky Mountaineer is a premium add-on and forms its own dedicated package (Rocky Mountaineer Signature). The Canadian Rockies Classic uses our private coach for all transfers — which allows more flexibility on stops than a fixed-departure train schedule.

Yes. The Hornblower Niagara boat cruise (or its Journey Behind the Falls alternative) is included for all guests. Reusable ponchos are provided onboard — the spray is real and spectacular. The visit is timed for late afternoon when the falls are frontally lit.

Yes. Rocky Mountaineer does not operate as an overnight train — it stops in Kamloops for 1 night (hotel included) and continues to Banff or Jasper on Day 2. The Kamloops overnight is a full included hotel stay; dinner in the city is included, and the evening is free for a riverside walk or rest.

Yes. The Baratang Island trip (limestone caves, mangrove creek speedboat, parrot island) is included and requires a police convoy permit. Our team arranges the permit and the convoy departure time is fixed at 6 am from Port Blair — we ensure you are on the convoy without fail.

Yes. Universal Studios Singapore (USS) park entry is included for all guests. Express Pass (skips queues) is available as an upgrade at SGD 30–50 per person and is recommended during school holiday periods (June, December). We advise on queue times based on your travel dates.

Yes. The Dubai Fountain show (world's largest choreographed fountain) is visible from the mall boardwalk at no cost. We time the evening mall visit to coincide with the 6 pm or 7 pm show (runs every 30 minutes after 6 pm on weekdays, 12:30 pm on weekends). The outdoor boardwalk view is as good as the paid boat view.

Yes. Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner at the resort restaurant) is included. Alcoholic beverages, specialty dining experiences, and water sports are not included. All-inclusive (AI) upgrades covering house beverages and selected activities are available at most resorts from approximately USD 80–120 per person per day.

Yes. The Kandy to Ella scenic train (6 hours through the tea highlands) in First Class Observation Car is included — one of Asia's great train journeys, passing through 9 arches bridge, Nanu Oya station, and Ella Rock. We book seats 30 days in advance and confirm your carriage number before departure.

Yes. A 7-day Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) is included — valid on all JR Shinkansen (except Nozomi and Mizuho fastest services) and local JR lines. This covers Tokyo–Kyoto (2.5 hours), Kyoto–Hiroshima (1.5 hours), and all urban JR stations. The JR Pass is activated on Day 1 in Tokyo and we assist with activation at the station.

Yes. Nairobi National Park (the world's only national park within a capital city) is included as a half-day game drive on the Nairobi arrival or departure day. Lions, giraffe, rhino, zebra, and buffalo are regularly sighted against the Nairobi city skyline — a genuinely unique juxtaposition.

Internal Canadian flights (Toronto → Calgary or Toronto → Vancouver for the western leg) are included. International flights (from India) are not included in the package price — we can quote these separately as a full fly+tour package or you book independently. Canadian internal flights are on Air Canada or WestJet.

Yes. The Mount Faber Cable Car to Sentosa Island (2-km scenic crossing) is included. Sentosa Express Monorail for day-of island hopping within Sentosa is also included. Wings of Time (Sentosa light show at 7:40 pm and 8:40 pm) is included for the evening show on the Sentosa day.

Major temple visits on this itinerary: Kapaleeswarar Temple (Chennai), Brihadeeswarar Temple (Thanjavur — UNESCO), Meenakshi Amman Temple (Madurai), Shore Temple (Mahabalipuram — UNESCO), and Airavatesvara Temple (Darasuram — UNESCO). Three UNESCO World Heritage temples in one itinerary is exceptional and reflects the depth of Tamil Nadu's Chola-era heritage.

Yes. One night in a luxury desert camp near Sam Sand Dunes (45 km from Jaisalmer) is included. Camps have permanent Swiss-tent accommodation with attached bathrooms, dining hall, and a folk music performance around the campfire. These are not basic camping setups — luxury-category camps have attached bathrooms and proper beds. Your camel safari delivers you to the camp at sunset.

Six safaris total are included — 2 at Ranthambore (1 morning, 1 afternoon) and 4 at Kanha or Pench (2 morning, 2 afternoon over 2 full safari days). Additional safaris can be added subject to Forest Department zone availability. All safari bookings are made 60+ days in advance — late booking cannot guarantee preferred zones or early morning slots.

Yes. Parks Canada Discovery Pass (valid at Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks) is included for all guests. The Columbia Icefield Glacier Walk (Ice Explorer bus + glacier walk) is also included. Lake Louise canoeing and other activities are optional extras.

Yes. A visit to the three principal Mughal gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — is included on the Srinagar sightseeing day. These 16th–17th century gardens with Dal Lake views are among the finest Mughal garden designs remaining in India. Entry fee is minimal (₹24) and is included.

The Coral Island speedboat day trip includes the return boat transfer (30 minutes each way), sunbed rental at Tawaen Beach, and a seafood buffet lunch. Snorkelling equipment rental (THB 150) is at your own cost at the beach. Glass-bottom boat viewing and jet skiing are available at the beach at your own discretion.

Yes. A comprehensive Schengen-compliant travel insurance policy (minimum EUR 30,000 medical coverage, mandatory for Schengen visa) is included in the package price. Coverage includes trip cancellation, medical evacuation, and baggage loss. Policy details and certificates are provided at booking.

Yes. Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel) timed entry is included with a licensed guide. We book the first entry slot at 9 am. The guide is positioned at the Sistine Chapel ceiling rather than in the noisy corridor — this is a deliberate choice to allow proper viewing time. Castel Sant'Angelo is an optional add-on (not included in standard package).

Yes. Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland (including Lady Knox Geyser, Champagne Pool, Artist's Palette) is included. Te Puia (with kiwi house and Maori cultural performance, including hangi dinner) is an optional evening upgrade. Both are in Rotorua and are complementary rather than overlapping experiences.

Yes. CN Tower admission (observation deck at 447m, glass floor, outdoor terrace) is included. The EdgeWalk (outdoor walking on the 116th floor exterior, 356m) is an optional upgrade (CAD $225 per person) — one of the world's great adrenaline experiences. Weight and medical restrictions apply; we check eligibility at booking.

Yes. The Columbia Icefield experience (Ice Explorer bus onto the Athabasca Glacier + Skywalk suspended glass walkway over the canyon) is fully included. This is the only place you can walk on a glacier in North America with a tour operator — the ice is 300m deep at the walking surface.

Yes. A 45-minute private boat ride on Lake Pichola — passing the Taj Lake Palace (mid-lake island hotel) and Jag Mandir — is included in the Udaipur section. This is the most photographed view of Udaipur and best appreciated around 4–5 pm before the light fades. A Jagdish Temple visit and City Palace museum visit are also included.

Yes — and we always recommend it. Ranakpur's Chaumukha Mandir (1444 CE) has 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each unique. It is a 3-hour drive from Jodhpur and 2 hours from Udaipur — directly en route. We stop for 2 hours, which is the right amount of time. Entry for non-Jains is permitted with appropriate dress (no leather belts).

safety

Yes. The Dashashwamedh Ghat Ganga Aarti (7 pm) is Varanasi's most attended event, witnessed by thousands of visitors nightly. Our guide accompanies you to a reserved seating position on the ghat steps or a private river boat — you are never in an unmanaged crowd.

Yes. The Kashmir Valley (Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam) has been welcoming tourists continuously since 2019 and tourism numbers have increased significantly. Our team is based in Srinagar and operates daily. All our vehicles, houseboats, and hotels are on our direct network — we would not operate if safety were a concern.

Yes, for reasonably fit travellers. Kaza (3,800m) requires 1 day of acclimatisation on arrival — we build this into the itinerary. Most temples and villages are accessible by road. The valley trek (Pin Parvati Pass) is a specialist route we offer separately. The main circuit requires no trekking experience.

Goa's main tourist beaches (Calangute, Baga, Candolim) have lifeguard coverage from 8 am to 6 pm during peak season. We book hotels specifically with safe beach access and supervised swimming zones. Strong undertow is present during monsoon (May–September) — we advise against beach holidays in this period for families with young children.

Yes. Dal Lake is calm and shallow near the houseboat moorings. Life jackets in children's sizes are available and mandatory for children under 12 on our shikara rides. The boat moves very slowly on the canal routes — there is no water sports activity or rapid current involved.

The tourist areas of Cape Town (V&A Waterfront, City Bowl, Camps Bay, Stellenbosch wine region) are well-patrolled and safe during the day. Our standard precautions apply: no phone use on street corners, no unsupervised walks after 9 pm in the CBD, and private transfers rather than public taxis. We provide a detailed safety briefing before and during the trip.

Yes. This itinerary is specifically designed with solo female safety as a primary consideration. Every guide and driver is vetted by our female operations lead in Jaipur. Hotels are selected for 24-hour front desk, good lighting, and secure room access. An emergency contact number is operational 24/7 throughout your journey.

Yes. Andaman waters have year-round visibility of 10–25 metres and no dangerous marine wildlife under normal conditions. All water activities are operated by National Institute of Water Sports-certified operators. We do not use uncertified vendors regardless of price. Beginners are fully briefed before entering the water.

Yes. The Pirdi to Jhiri stretch (Grade III, suitable for beginners) is manageable for confident non-swimmers with a properly fitted life jacket and helmet. All our rafting guides are Whitewater Rescue Level certified. Guests with heart conditions or pregnancy should not participate — alternatives are arranged.

Yes. Bali is a Hindu island with a deeply spiritual and welcoming culture — Indian visitors often feel an immediate cultural resonance with the temple ceremonies, offerings, and festivals. Kuta and Seminyak are safe, well-policed tourist zones. Standard travel precautions apply (watch bags in markets, use hotel safes).

Yes. The Genting Highlands Cable Car (Awana SkyWay) is one of the world's longest aerial tramways, operated by the Genting Group with a modern fleet and international safety certification. Gondolas are enclosed and air-conditioned. The 3.4 km ascent takes approximately 10 minutes. Children under 2 ride free.

beginner

None at all. Grand India First Journey is specifically designed for first-time visitors. We assign an escort guide who accompanies you across all five destinations — you never navigate independently unless you choose to. Every cultural moment (ghat ceremony, camel safari, houseboat) is introduced with context.

differentiators

Three things: accommodation exclusively in owner-run heritage havelis (not chain hotels), a maximum group size of 8 guests, and a fully flexible daily schedule with no fixed group meal times or monument queues. You visit at the opening hour; crowds arrive later.

Three distinctions: all accommodation is in owner-run heritage havelis and palaces (not chain hotels), the itinerary extends to Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert (which most "Rajasthan tours" skip), and a minimum of 2 nights at each major city allows you to explore beyond the top monuments.

accommodation

We use a curated selection from: The Oberoi Amarvilas (Agra), Rambagh Palace or Samode Palace (Jaipur), and The Leela or ITC Maurya (Delhi). Final property depends on availability and your specific travel dates. All are independently inspected by our team annually.

We offer accommodation in both. North Goa (Calangute, Candolim, Baga) is livelier with more restaurants, nightlife, and beach activity. South Goa (Palolem, Colva, Majorda) is quieter and cleaner. We recommend North Goa for first-time Goa visitors and South Goa for repeat visitors or those prioritising tranquillity. Tell us your preference at booking.

Seminyak and Nusa Dua are our top recommendations for honeymooning couples. Seminyak offers the best balance of romantic beach clubs, boutique restaurants, and luxury villas with private pools. Nusa Dua is more resort-enclosed and quieter — ideal for couples who want a genuine retreat. Ubud is spectacular for cultural honeymooners. We tailor the accommodation to your preference.

Luxury India Celebrations & Palaces includes: The Imperial or Taj Mahal Hotel (New Delhi), Oberoi Amarvilas (Agra — every room faces the Taj Mahal), Rambagh Palace or Taj Jai Mahal Palace (Jaipur), Taj Lake Palace or Taj Falaknuma Palace (Udaipur/Hyderabad depending on itinerary), and Taj Nadesar Palace (Varanasi). All are former royal properties or colonial-era landmarks.

Srinagar accommodation is on a premium houseboat on Dal Lake — a 2-bedroom, fully furnished floating residence with an open sun deck, private dining room, and butler service. The houseboat stays on a calm moorage; it does not drift. On-land hotel alternatives are available on request.

This package uses private pool villas — a 1-bedroom villa with your own plunge pool, open-air bathroom, and private garden. No shared pools, no lobby queues. All villas are from our partner collection in Seminyak and Ubud, inspected annually. The villa experience is the defining luxury element of this package.

We use Fairmont Banff Springs (built 1888, 'Castle in the Rockies'), Fairmont Château Lake Louise (set directly on the lake), and Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (historic mountain resort). Availability at peak season requires 4–6 months' advance booking. We hold annual block allocations at all three properties to secure preferred room categories.

Heritage hotel selection varies by city: Jaipur (Samode Haveli or Narain Niwas Palace), Pushkar (Pushkar Palace), Jodhpur (Bal Samand Lake Palace), Jaisalmer (Suryagarh), Bikaner (Bhanwar Niwas), and Udaipur (Fateh Prakash Palace). All are former royal properties or colonial-era haveli conversions. We do not use modern chain hotels on this itinerary.

Taj Lake Palace (the 18th-century white marble hotel on an island in Lake Pichola) is available as an upgrade accommodation for the Udaipur section. The standard itinerary uses Taj Fateh Prakash Palace or equivalent — both are heritage palace properties. Taj Lake Palace (island-access only by boat) is the world's most dramatic hotel location and worth the upgrade for special occasions.

Yes — every property selected for India for Families: Easy Pace has a swimming pool. Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Ranthambore hotels all have full-size pools (heated in winter). This is a non-negotiable standard on this product — we do not use heritage havelis without pool access for family bookings.

visa

Most visitors require a Canadian visa or eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). ETA takes 72 hours and costs CAD $7. Full visa (for citizens of countries not eligible for eTA) takes 2–6 weeks. We provide a complete visa support letter and itinerary document at booking. Check your eligibility at ircc.canada.ca.

Indian citizens do not require a permit for the main Andaman Islands (Port Blair, Havelock, Neil). Foreign nationals require a free Restricted Area Permit (RAP) which is issued on arrival at Port Blair Airport. We brief all international guests on the RAP process before departure.

Indian citizens can obtain a UAE visa on arrival for 14 days (extendable to 30 days) at Dubai Airport — cost AED 100 (approximately ₹2,300). Alternatively, a pre-arranged 30-day tourist visa takes 3–5 working days and costs AED 200. We assist with the visa application document preparation at no additional charge.

India is eligible for Thailand visa-on-arrival (30 days, THB 2,000, approximately ₹4,800). Alternatively, an e-Visa can be obtained online in advance for THB 1,000 (approximately ₹2,400) with a 5-day processing time. We provide the complete application checklist. Note: visa-on-arrival queues at Suvarnabhumi Airport can be 1–2 hours at peak times.

Indian citizens can obtain a 30-day Visa on Arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali — cost USD 35 (approximately ₹2,900). The e-VOA (online pre-arrival, IDR 500,000 ≈ ₹2,600) is faster at the airport. No prior appointment or document stamping required. We provide the full checklist.

Apply 45–60 days before travel. The embassy requires the full itinerary, hotel confirmations, and travel insurance. We provide a complete visa support package (cover letter, itinerary document, hotel confirmation letters) at no charge. Typical processing is 15–20 working days but varies by country of application.

Yes. Indian citizens require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) for Sri Lanka — obtained online at eta.gov.lk, cost USD 35, processed in 24 hours. A physical visa on arrival is also available (USD 40) but online ETA is faster and more reliable. We provide the ETA application link and checklist at booking.

Yes. The Schengen Area covers France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and most EU countries — a single visa covers all. Apply 45–60 days in advance. We provide a complete visa support package: cover letter, confirmed itinerary, hotel booking confirmations, and travel insurance certificate. Our visa success rate across 600 applications is 97%.

No. All four countries are Schengen Area members — your single Schengen visa covers all. Apply at the embassy of the country where you spend the most nights (typically Austria for this itinerary). We provide the full Schengen documentation package. ETA requirements for non-EU nationalities are monitored by our team.

No. Most nationalities (including Indian passport holders) receive Malaysia visa-on-arrival (30 days, free of charge) at all entry points. Singapore requires Indian passport holders to apply for a Singapore Tourist Visa in advance (SGD $30, 3–5 working days processing). We provide the Singapore visa application support at no charge.

Yes. Indian citizens require an ETA (Australian Electronic Travel Authority, subclass 601) or a regular tourist visa (subclass 600). ETA costs AUD $20, is processed in 24 hours, and requires an eligible Australian-linked app. Regular tourist visa takes 15–25 working days. We advise on the appropriate visa type based on your passport history.

No. Indian citizens require a New Zealand Visitor Visa — applied online via the Immigration New Zealand portal. Processing typically takes 20–30 working days. We provide a full visa documentation package at booking. NZeTA (Electronic Travel Authority) is not available to Indian passport holders — only full visitor visa applies.

highlights

The Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) is a 232-km mountain road connecting Banff and Jasper — named by National Geographic as one of the world's great drives. We spend a full day driving it with 8–10 photo stops including Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, Columbia Icefield, and Athabasca Falls.

Many historians argue yes — Mehrangarh's preservation, the museum quality, and the panoramic views over the blue city are unmatched. Jaisalmer Fort (a living fort with inhabitants) and Amber Fort (the Mughal-Rajput hybrid) are equally extraordinary but in different ways. All three are on this itinerary.

Barren Island is India's only active volcano, located 135 km north of Port Blair. The chartered boat trip takes 4 hours each way. You circle the island and observe the active lava plume from the boat — landing is not permitted. The excursion is limited to 20 visitors per day and requires Forest Department clearance, which we arrange. One of the rarest experiences in all of India.

At the Top (Level 124, 452m) offers a 360° panoramic view of Dubai on three outdoor terraces. On clear days (November–March best) you can see for 60–70 km — the desert to the south, the Gulf to the north, and the full Palm Jumeirah. Level 148 (SKY) at 555m is 30% more expensive but significantly less crowded and has a private indoor observation area.

Yes. Mount Titlis (3,238m, accessed by rotating gondola) is included. The summit glacier has permanent snow year-round — you can stand on ice in any month. The Glacier Cave and the Cliff Walk (suspension bridge at 3,041m) are included. Summit temperature averages -5°C in summer and -15°C in winter — dress warmly regardless of valley temperature.

Yes. The Hobbiton Movie Set Tour in Matamata (Waikato) is included in the North Island section. The 2-hour guided tour covers all 44 hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn (included welcome drink), and the Party Tree. The Evening Banquet tour (available at night, an upgrade) is one of the great New Zealand experiences — ask us about this.

Yes. Ranthambore Fort (UNESCO World Heritage as part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan) stands inside the national park and is accessible during Zone 1–5 safaris. The fort was built in the 10th century and predates the Mughal Empire. Our naturalist guide covers both the wildlife and the historical significance during the safari.

Yes — entry is completely free. Abayas (full-length robes) are provided at the entrance for women who are not already covered. The mosque is one of the world's largest (capacity 40,000) and architecturally extraordinary — 82 domes, 24-carat gold chandeliers, and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. Allow 1.5–2 hours.

Yes. Wieliczka Salt Mine has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978 and is one of Poland's oldest functioning tourist sites. The underground lake chapel, salt-carved statues, and 2km of illuminated galleries are extraordinary — it is not 'just a mine' but a genuinely exceptional underground world. Included in this itinerary.

Sognefjord (Norway's longest at 205 km) and Geirangerfjord (UNESCO World Heritage) are both included. Sognefjord arm cruise is covered in the Flåm–Gudvangen leg. Geirangerfjord cruise (1.5 hours) shows the Seven Sisters and Suitor waterfalls — photographed more than any Norwegian fjord. Both are included in the package.

language

Québec City's Old Town is predominantly French-speaking, but tourist-facing businesses universally accommodate English. Our guides are bilingual (French/English) and all hotel and restaurant staff we work with are English-fluent. A 'merci' and 'bonjour' go a long way — we brief all guests before arrival.

English is universally understood in the tourist areas of Québec City's Old Town. Hotel staff, restaurant servers, and attraction staff are all bilingual. Our guides are French-English bilingual. The French immersion adds authenticity — a quick "bonjour" and "merci" is entirely sufficient.

experience

GoldLeaf is a dedicated dome-ceiling bi-level car: upper level is all glass dome, lower level is the dining room where your meals are served. SilverLeaf is a single-level panoramic coach with full-length windows. GoldLeaf provides significantly better photo opportunities and is the experience we recommend. We book GoldLeaf as the standard for this package.

Above 63°N in June–July, the sun never fully sets — it dips toward the horizon at midnight and rises again within 2 hours. In Stockholm and Oslo (around 59–60°N) you get 'white nights' — bright dusk all night. Effective blackout curtains are essential for sleeping; most Scandinavian hotels provide these, but we confirm at every property.

The main backwater tourist lane runs along NH 66 canal — wide, busy, with dozens of houseboats. Our houseboats are given captain instructions to use the narrow village canals (kuttunaad, kainakari, champakkulam) where you pass within metres of village life, paddy fields, and Chinese fishing nets. Completely different experience.

Damnoen Saduak (included in standard tours) is heavily touristic but colourful and photogenic. Amphawa Floating Market (Saturday–Sunday evenings) is more authentic and local. We include whichever aligns with your travel day — please let us know your preference and we schedule accordingly.

comparison

Different emphasis. Kerala Hills and Backwaters includes the tea hill stations (Munnar) and a wildlife sanctuary (Periyar) — more active and destination-varied. Kerala Wellness Backwaters focuses on the Ayurvedic treatment experience and slower houseboat time. If you want hills + wildlife + backwaters, choose this package. If you want wellness + deeper backwater time, choose the other.

No. Rajasthan Heritage Triangle refers to the Jaipur–Jodhpur–Udaipur circuit — entirely within Rajasthan without Delhi or Agra. It is a purely Rajasthani experience focused on the three great cities of the desert kingdom: the Pink, Blue, and Lake cities.

Premium Journey differs from Classic in three ways: accommodation is Fairmont or equivalent 5-star (not 4-star); a licensed mountain naturalist guide is included for all park days (not an interpreter); and the Icefields Parkway drive is supplemented with 2 additional stops (Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca Falls with canyon walk) not in the Classic itinerary.

activities

Included: white-water rafting on the Beas River (Grade III), Solang Valley snow activities (seasonal), and one paragliding tandem flight from Dobhi launch site. Optional at additional cost: zorbing, horse riding to Jogini Waterfall, and ATV quad biking. All operators are Himachal Tourism-certified.

LEGOLAND Malaysia (Johor Bahru, 4 hours from KL) is an optional day trip — best combined with a 1-night JB hotel stay. It is the most comprehensive LEGOLAND outside Europe and North America. Park entry and private coach from KL can be arranged at approximately ₹4,500 per adult and ₹3,500 per child. Not included in the standard package.

The Outer Reef full-day trip includes snorkelling equipment for all guests (no experience required). A complimentary introductory scuba dive (try-dive, instructor in-water) is also included for guests aged 12+. Certified diver tanks (own certification required) are available as a small additional charge. The reef at 30 km offshore has 25–30m visibility.

Universal Studios Singapore typically takes one full day (9 am to 7 pm) to experience all 7 zones. We include full-day tickets. For families with young children (under 5), 5–6 hours is sufficient before fatigue sets in. Express Pass upgrade (skips queues) is recommended during school holidays when queues exceed 45 minutes.

Yes. The Jaisalmer segment includes a 2-hour sunset camel ride to a private desert camp, a campfire dinner with Rajasthani folk musicians, an overnight stay in luxury tents (proper beds, en-suite bathrooms, electricity), and an optional sunrise camel ride before breakfast.

A discover scuba diving experience (try-dive, no certification required, instructor in-water throughout) is included for 2 guests. It is conducted at Elephant Beach reef, which has 8–12m visibility and mild current. Full 4-day PADI Open Water certification is available as an upgrade.

The standard package includes one water sports session (jet ski, parasailing, or banana boat — your choice at the beach). Additional sessions are available at the beach operator's rates (typically ₹500–1,500 per activity). We do not use unlicensed beach operators — all our Goa water sports partners are Coast Guard-certified.

Yes — particularly Basilica of Bom Jesus (UNESCO, holds St Francis Xavier's relics) and the Se Cathedral. Our guide presents these as story-based explorations for children, making the Inquisition era accessible rather than abstract. Allow 2 hours and visit at 9 am before the heat builds.

Yes. The Gulmarg excursion includes pony rides at the meadow for children under 12 — one of the most popular elements of the package with families. Pony operators are from the Gujjar community and our team supervises the selection of a safe, well-fed pony. Adult guests can also ride.

The standard package includes a shared group desert safari (seats 6–8 guests in one jeep, typically from different travel groups). Private desert safari (exclusive jeep, 4 guests maximum, your schedule) is available at an upgrade cost of approximately AED 600. We recommend private for couples and families with young children.

Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world: bungee jumping, skydiving, white-water rafting, jet boating, and paragliding are all available within 20 minutes of the town centre. Our package includes the Queenstown gondola and Luge (included); adventure sports are optional extras. AJ Hackett (original bungee site) and NZONE Skydive are our recommended operators.

Yes. A full Whistler day trip from Vancouver (2 hours by coach) is included. In summer (June–September): Peak 2 Peak gondola, sightseeing at Roundhouse, and Whistler Village walk are included. In winter: ski lesson arrangements are available for children aged 4+ as an upgrade (Whistler Blackcomb Ski School is world-class).

Yes. The Rishikesh rafting section (Brahmpuri to Rishikesh, Grade II–III) is suitable for beginners and non-swimmers with life jackets. The Marine Drive to Rishikesh section (26 km, Grade III–IV) is for guests with some water sports experience. We book the correct section based on your comfort level — it is confirmed before departure.

Yes. We offer a Rajasthani cooking class with a haveli chef in Jaipur, a block-printing workshop in Sanganer, and a pottery session with the Khumhar community in Jaisalmer — all arrangeable with 5 days' notice. These are not mass-tourism workshops; they are genuine artisan encounters.

Phase 1 (Gulmarg town to Kongdori at 3,050m) is open year-round for trekking and sightseeing. Phase 2 (Kongdori to Apharwat Peak at 3,980m) is open April to November for sightseeing and December to March for skiing. We check access on the morning of your visit as weather can close Phase 2 on short notice.

Yes, as an optional day trip (not included in the standard package, approximately ₹2,500 per person). The waterfall is at its most dramatic in July–October when water volume is highest; visits require a forest jeep from Mollem and are subject to Forest Department daily visitor caps. We recommend booking 48 hours in advance.

Yes. Splashdown Water Park (North Goa) or Atlantis Water Park (Vagator) are both available as an optional full-day add-on, ideal for families on day 3 or 4 when beach novelty has peaked. Entry fees, transport, and lunch at the park can be arranged by our team for approximately ₹3,500 per adult and ₹2,500 per child.

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is the standard inclusion — the world's largest indoor theme park, fully air-conditioned, with DC and Warner Bros characters throughout. Ferrari World (Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster) and Yas Waterworld are available as upgrades. All three parks are on Yas Island.

Yes. A half-day Phuket Old Town walk is included — Sino-Portuguese shophouse architecture, the weekend market, Rang Hill viewpoint, and a Thai cooking demonstration at a heritage house. This is the cultural antidote to Patong's beach resort energy and a favourite with our guests.

Rock climbing at Railay Beach is an optional half-day activity (not included in the standard package). Wee's Climbing School is the most reputable operator for beginners — two-pitch courses with full equipment are approximately THB 1,200 per person. No experience is required. Our team books the session if you are interested.

Yes. A government-licensed English-speaking guide accompanies the Sigiriya climb. The full ascent takes 45–60 minutes and requires moderate fitness (approximately 1,200 steps with viewing galleries and frescoes en route). The 5th-century palace at the summit has panoramic views over the jungle — one of Asia's great UNESCO sites.

Yes. Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum is 80 km from Krakow (1.5-hour coach). A half-day guided visit can be added as an optional excursion. Admission to the museum is free; a licensed guide is mandatory (included in the excursion add-on). This is a deeply significant and sobering historical experience — we provide full pre-visit context and emotional support guidance.

The itinerary includes a 2-hour yoga class at a certified Rishikesh yoga centre (not an ashram residential stay). A 2-night ashram residential extension (includes all meals, yoga morning and evening, silence protocol) is available as an upgrade. The most respected residential ashrams in Rishikesh have 3–6 month waitlists for serious practitioners.

Yes. A Kerala cooking class with a local family in a traditional tharavadu (ancestral home) near Alleppey is included. You prepare 4–5 dishes (fish curry, avial, puttu, payasam) and eat the meal you cook. This is a private class, not a group session — the family are long-standing Globalduniya partners.

A Ladakh motorcycle extension (Royal Enfield, 5–7 days from Manali to Leh via Rohtang and Tanglang La) is available as an alternative to the standard itinerary for experienced riders. This is a separate product with a dedicated riding guide and vehicle support truck. The scenic vehicle-based Ladakh itinerary is also available for non-riders who want the same landscapes with more comfort.

The National Research Centre on Camel (NRCC) at Bikaner is India's only camel breeding and research facility — it has over 400 camels and is genuinely fascinating for any nature or agriculture enthusiast. A 1.5-hour guided visit is included in this itinerary. Camel milk ice cream at the facility's café is a popular stop.

family

Kerala Family Escape works best for children aged 5 and above. The houseboat, Periyar wildlife boat safari, and Munnar tea estates are all engaging for children 5+. Children under 3 require extra supervision on the houseboat (open water access at deck level). We recommend requesting the toddler safety gate add-on.

Yes — Singapore is arguably the most family-friendly city in Southeast Asia. Strollers are welcome everywhere, all attractions have lift access, and changing facilities are excellent. Zoo and Night Safari have covered paths. Universal Studios has a separate children's section (Far Far Away) with rides suitable from age 2.

Children aged 4–14 will get the most from this package. Petronas Towers, Genting Highlands cable car, Aquaria KLCC, and Sunway Lagoon are all highly engaging for school-age children. For children under 3, some activities (notably Genting Highlands outdoor areas) may have height restrictions or limited suitability.

Yes. There is no minimum age for Ranthambore safaris. Children under 5 who fit on a parent's lap are not charged a seat fee. We recommend binoculars for children aged 6+ to make the experience more engaging.

Pattaya has a dual character: the main tourist strip is family-friendly (beach, mini golf, water parks, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden) while Walking Street is adult-oriented. Our family itineraries avoid Walking Street and focus on daytime Pattaya entirely. If travelling with children, specify this at booking and we adjust the accommodation and activity selection accordingly.

Yes — it is one of the finest natural history museums in North America for children. The 10,000-year First Nations history exhibit, the mammoth (life-size model), and the recreated 1900 BC coastal town are engaging for children from age 7. The IMAX theatre adjoining the museum shows nature documentaries that complement the exhibits. Included in the Victoria full day.

Night Safari has no minimum age restriction. However, the experience involves walking 45-minute tram loop through dark jungle and nocturnal animal zones — children under 4 may find the darkness unsettling. The Creatures of the Night show (6:45 pm, open stage, well-lit) is better suited for very young children and is included before the tram ride.

romance

Yes. All hotels on this package are notified of the honeymoon occasion at booking. Room decorations (flowers, rose petals, welcome card, fruit basket) are arranged as a standard complimentary welcome. We do not charge extra for honeymoon setup — it is part of our service, not an add-on.

Both have a different character. Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) is larger with Radhanagar Beach (Asia's best by Time Magazine, 2004) and more resort options — ideal for couples who want facilities and activities. Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) is smaller, quieter, and more intimate — ideal for couples who want genuine seclusion. This package centres on Havelock with a Neil day excursion.

Yes. Private beach dinners are arrangeable at Kovalam and Varkala. We coordinate with our hotel partners to set up a private table on the beach (candles, fairy lights, special menu) with 48 hours' notice. The arrangement is not a standard package element but is included in our coordination service at no extra fee.

Absolutely. We have coordinated over 50 proposals on Dal Lake — from shikara flower arrangements at sunset to private chef dinners on the houseboat deck under the stars. Contact your coordinator 2 weeks before arrival with your vision and we plan every detail confidentially.

Included as standard (not upgrades): in-villa flowers and rose petal room setup on arrival, a couples' Balinese massage (1 hour, in-villa), a sunset cocktail at a Jimbaran beach restaurant, and an Uluwatu Kecak fire dance evening show with dinner. Private sunrise rice terrace walk (Tegalalang) is included for Ubud guests.

cultural

The Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is performed every single evening of the year at sunset (approximately 6:45–7:30 pm). It is a private Hindu foundation's daily ritual, not a tourist performance. Major festivals (Diwali, Dev Deepawali in November) see an expanded version attended by tens of thousands.

Photography of the ghats, Ganga, temples, and the Aarti ceremony is welcomed and respectful. Photography at Manikarnika Ghat (the main cremation site) is prohibited out of respect for grieving families — our guide will explain the boundary clearly before you arrive. Photography of sadhus requires asking permission first (usually a small donation is appropriate).

Very different. South India has its own language families (Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam — unrelated to Hindi), distinct Dravidian temple architecture (towering gopurams rather than Mughal domes), predominantly vegetarian cuisine, and a generally more relaxed pace than North India. Most international travellers find South India easier and less overwhelming on a first visit.

Yes. The textile block-printing workshop in Bagru, the Jaipur gemstone setting demonstration, and the Varanasi silk weaving visit all take place at women-led cooperatives or family workshops where women are the primary artisans. We avoid tourist shops and commission-based vendors entirely on this itinerary.

Photography at Manikarnika and Harishchandra ghats (cremation sites) is strictly prohibited as a mark of respect for the families. Our guide will advise you on respectful positioning and explain the ceremony. All other ghats and the river view allow photography.

Yes. Jaisalmer's Jain temples inside the fort complex (7 temples, 12th–15th century, intricate marble carvings) are a highlight of the Jaisalmer visit. No temple entry fee. Shoes must be removed before the complex; our guide provides context on Jain philosophy that makes the carvings understandable rather than just beautiful.

Traditional sequence is Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath (west to east). Our itinerary follows this sequence, starting from Haridwar/Rishikesh. The sequence is considered auspicious by the Char Dham Yatra tradition and is also the most logistically efficient route.

Yes, year-round. The climbing of Uluru was permanently closed in October 2019 out of respect for Anangu sacred sites — the Uluru Base Walk (10 km, 3.5 hours), sunrise and sunset viewing, and the Cultural Centre are all open daily. We time the Uluru visit to maximise both the sunset and sunrise colour sequences.

Yes. An evening Kathakali classical dance performance (with pre-show make-up demonstration) is included in the Kerala section of this itinerary. Kathakali is one of India's oldest classical dance forms originating in Kerala — the elaborate eye and hand gesture language (mudra) is explained by your guide before the performance begins.

upgrades

Yes. Helicopter service from Phata or Sirsi helipad to Kedarnath Bhawan (7–10 minute flight) is available as an upgrade. It eliminates the 16 km uphill trek. We book Government-approved helicopter operators (Pawanhans, Himalayan Heli) and pre-allocate seats — demand is very high and availability must be confirmed 60 days in advance.

Yes. Adding 2 nights at Ranthambore (between Agra and Jaipur) converts this into a 7-night tour. This extension is available for groups of 2–6 guests and includes 2 morning and evening safaris. Ask us for the combined quote.

Yes. A 2-night houseboat extension is available at ₹18,000 per night additional cost (2-pax occupancy, premium A/C houseboat). This is our most requested upgrade on this package — the second morning on the backwaters is even quieter than the first.

Yes. Banff extensions of 1–3 additional nights are popular — particularly for guests who want to hike the Plain of Six Glaciers or canoe Lake Louise independently. We can arrange additional hotel nights, rental car, and Parks Canada backcountry permits. Ask us for extension pricing.

Yes. A very popular combination is Delhi–Agra–Jaipur (3 nights) → Jodhpur → Udaipur (add 4 nights). We can quote this as a single 11-night circuit. Alternatively, the reverse sequence (Rajasthan first, then Agra and Delhi) also works for certain flight arrival patterns.

The UNESCO World Heritage Kalka–Shimla heritage railway can be included as an optional upgrade (5 hours, stunning mountain views). The standard itinerary uses road transfer (3.5 hours by car). Many guests combine: train up to Shimla, road back to Chandigarh for the Manali leg.

Yes. Ajmer's Dargah Sharif and Pushkar Lake are a natural add-on between Jaipur and Jodhpur (1 extra night). Mount Abu (Dilwara Jain Temples) adds 1 night between Jodhpur and Udaipur. We can incorporate both without restructuring the core route.

Long Island is an optional 1-night extension — a remote island with one eco-resort, pristine beaches, and zero crowds. Accessible only by government ferry (4 hours). We recommend it for guests who want a completely off-grid experience at the end of the main circuit. Ask us for Long Island extension pricing.

Yes. Jaipur is 3 hours from Ranthambore and many guests add 1–2 Jaipur nights before flying home. We can add Amber Fort, City Palace, and Jaipur Bazaar to your itinerary after the final safari — the Ranthambore–Jaipur combination is one of our most popular domestic extensions.

Cameron Highlands is available as an optional 1-night extension (3 hours from KL). BOH Tea Estate tour, strawberry farms, and mossy forest walk are the highlights. The cool highland climate (18–24°C) is a welcome relief from KL's 32°C heat. We recommend it for guests who have 7+ nights in Malaysia.

privacy

Yes. This package uses a private 2-bedroom houseboat exclusively for your couple. You are the only guests onboard — the captain, helper, and chef work only for you. We do not place couples on shared or multi-party houseboats regardless of size.

transport

Speedboat, exclusively. Our Phi Phi day trip uses a shared speedboat (25 seats maximum, A/C cabin) from Phuket — 45-minute crossing vs 90 minutes on a slow ferry. This maximises island time. The Phi Phi Islands day includes Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, and Monkey Beach with snorkelling time at 2 locations.

Railay Beach is accessible only by long-tail boat — no road connects it to the mainland due to the surrounding limestone cliffs. The boat from Ao Nang takes 15 minutes. We book your Railay arrival to coincide with low tide when the beach is at its widest and the emerald water is clearest. Return transfers are included.

North Malé Atoll resorts (30–45 minute speedboat from Male Airport) are included in the standard package with speedboat transfer. For resorts in outer atolls requiring seaplane transfer (15–45 minutes flying), the seaplane cost (USD 280–600 per person return) is an additional cost. We specify the transfer type clearly in your package details before booking.

Milford Sound is accessed by the Milford Road from Te Anau — a 2.5-hour scenic drive through Fiordland National Park (UNESCO). The road passes through the Homer Tunnel (1.2 km, one-lane, dramatic) and the Gertrude Saddle viewpoint. Scenic flight from Queenstown (45 minutes) is available as an alternative for guests short on time.

Most guests fly Vancouver to Calgary (1 hour 10 minutes) and then drive to Banff (1.5 hours). The Vancouver–Banff drive is 900 km and 9 hours through the Trans-Canada — scenic but very long. The flight option is standard on this package. The Rocky Mountaineer train is an upgrade alternative (2 days, Vancouver to Banff).

Yes — one domestic flight from Udaipur or Jodhpur back to your gateway city is included in the package price. Inter-city Rajasthan travel is by road in our private AC vehicle (Jaipur–Jodhpur is 5 hours; Jodhpur–Udaipur is 5 hours via Ranakpur). These are comfortable, scenic drives with rest stops en route.

By Interislander Ferry across the Cook Strait (3 hours 10 minutes, Wellington to Picton). This is both the practical and the scenic choice — the Marlborough Sounds entrance from the sea is magnificent. Our coach board the ferry (car deck) and you ride in the passenger lounge. The ferry schedule and vehicle booking are pre-confirmed as part of the package.

By deluxe private coach across the Causeway (4–5 hours including Woodlands Checkpoint border crossing). The coach is air-conditioned with reclining seats, onboard WC, and charging points. Alternatively, a 55-minute budget flight (AirAsia or Scoot) is available as an upgrade — we include the ground transfer to each airport.

From Banff to Vancouver (850 km), we arrange the scenic Via Rail Canadian train (overnight, 17–19 hours, arriving Vancouver Pacific Central Station) or a 1-hour domestic flight from Calgary to Vancouver. We recommend the train for the mountain scenery through the Rockies — the overnight route through Kamloops is one of Canada's great train journeys.

By BC Ferries from Tsawwassen (40 minutes south of Vancouver) to Swartz Bay — a 1-hour 35-minute scenic crossing through the Gulf Islands. The ferry deck is an experience in itself; we book the lounge-class seats. The float plane return (35 minutes, Vancouver Harbour to Victoria) can be substituted for the ferry on one leg.

Port Blair to Havelock: 90-minute premium ferry (Makruzz or Green Ocean) — faster and more comfortable than the 2.5-hour government ferry. Havelock to Neil Island: 30-minute ferry. All ferry tickets are pre-booked and included. We always book seat-class rather than deck-class for the crossing.

Yes. All inter-city transfers (high-speed rail or domestic flights) are included in the package price. We select the most practical mode: TGV Paris-Amsterdam (3 hrs), Frecciarossa Rome-Florence (90 min), or Ryanair/easyJet where rail is impractical. All transport is pre-booked with confirmed seats.

seasonal

Cherry blossom (sakura) dates are forecast by the Japan Meteorological Corporation from late January each year, based on winter temperature data. Peak bloom in Tokyo is typically March 20–April 5; Kyoto is 5–7 days later. We share the first forecast with all booked guests in late January and confirm the optimal travel days. Our hotel and rail bookings have flexibility clauses specifically for this.

Yes with preparation. Amritsar (232m) and Shimla (2,200m) differ by 15–18°C. Shimla has snow in December–January — beautiful but the Mall Road is icy. Pack serious winter layers. The Golden Temple in the snow is extraordinary. Mountain roads may require chains on vehicles — we always carry them.

Yes, seasonally. Shimla and Manali both receive snowfall December to February, with Solang Valley and Rohtang Pass snow-accessible. March and April see snow at higher elevations. May to September is green season — lush Parvati Valley and Beas River views but no snow. We advise on expected conditions at the time of booking.

Pahalgam is spectacular year-round. April–June brings spring wildflowers on the Lidder River meadows. September–October is harvest season with golden poplars. November–March brings snowfall — the Baisaran meadow is accessible only in summer and early autumn. We time the Pahalgam excursion for the wildflower or autumn-colour window depending on your travel dates.

Niagara Falls is spectacular year-round. Summer (June–August) offers the boat tour and full water volume. October is magnificent for fall foliage on both riverbanks. Winter (December–February) sees the falls partially freeze — the illuminated ice formations at night are extraordinary but the boat tour is closed. All seasons are included in our East Coast departure calendar.

Peak fall colour in the Montréal–Québec City corridor runs the last week of September to the second week of October. The Laurentian Mountains north of Montréal turn crimson and gold. We have dedicated autumn departures timed to peak colour — ask us for the exact departure dates.

May to June (pre-monsoon) for snow at Solang and full river flow for rafting. September to October (post-monsoon) for crystal-clear skies and ideal paragliding conditions. July to August is monsoon — rafting is at peak flow (more intense) but paragliding is grounded and Rohtang is frequently foggy.

May to September is the ideal family window — school summer holidays align with peak Gulmarg meadow access and the cleanest weather. July is the most popular month. We recommend late June or early September to avoid peak-month crowds at Gulmarg gondola.

Yes. Winter Kashmir is a genuinely magical honeymoon experience — Dal Lake partially freezes, Gulmarg is snow-covered, and the houseboats have full central heating. We offer a dedicated Winter Honeymoon Kashmir extension with ski lessons at Gulmarg. Note: some mountain roads close and helicopter services are weather-dependent.

May to September for full access. June and early July are our favourite months: fjord water levels are highest (most waterfall flow), wildflowers are blooming, and daylight is 20+ hours. September is quieter, cheaper, and has early autumn colour. December to March offers Northern Lights possibility but fjord cruises are limited by weather.

fitness

This is a high-movement itinerary — 4 cities in 12 nights with internal flights and cross-country logistics. We design rest afternoons on Days 5 and 9 specifically to counter fatigue. All walking is at tourist sites (1–5 km per day) with no significant hiking or climbing. Guests with limited mobility should inform us — we adjust the activity selection.

Kedarnath requires a 16 km trek or a 7-minute helicopter flight. Yamunotri requires a 6 km trek (or palkhi/palki sedan chair). Gangotri and Badrinath are road-accessible (no trekking required). We recommend helicopter for Kedarnath for guests over 60 or with heart/knee conditions. Palkhi is available at all trekking shrines.

suitability

There is no minimum age. The itinerary is specifically designed to be suitable from age 3 upwards. Hotel pool access, child-friendly meals, and a paced daily schedule (no more than one major activity per morning) make it accessible for families travelling with toddlers. We advise against this circuit for infants under 18 months due to heat and dust sensitivity.

No. This itinerary is suitable for first-time South India visitors. The South is culturally quite distinct from North India — more vegetarian food, Dravidian temple architecture rather than Mughal, and a slower pace of life. Your guide provides cultural briefings before each major temple to help you understand what you are seeing.

Yes — Luxury India Celebrations & Palaces is our signature honeymoon and milestone anniversary product. We have been designing luxury Indian honeymoon itineraries since 2007. The combination of Taj Mahal at sunrise (the world's greatest monument to love), Dal Lake houseboat, and palace hotel suites creates an experience that consistently receives our highest guest satisfaction scores.

Yes. The Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Jaipur's Amber Fort, and Delhi's heritage sites stand completely on their own as world-class experiences. The tiger parks (Ranthambore, Kanha) add dramatic natural landscapes and early morning forest drives that guests without any prior safari interest consistently rate as the trip highlight.

product

Kerala Soft Luxury uses boutique heritage properties and boutique eco-resorts rather than chain hotels. The pace is deliberately slower with 2–3 nights per location rather than one-night stops. Activities are qualitative over quantitative — one excellent Ayurvedic session rather than a rushed tick-list. Maximum group size (if travelling with others) is 6.

Rajasthan Desert & Palaces specifically prioritises the western desert cities (Jaisalmer and Bikaner) alongside Jaipur and Jodhpur, giving you the full Thar Desert experience including a camel safari and desert camp overnight. Many Rajasthan circuits omit Bikaner (Junagarh Fort, camel research centre) — we consider it essential.

altitude

The itinerary reaches 5,360 m at Pangong Lake (via Chang La pass, the third-highest motorable pass in the world). Khardung La (5,359 m), often cited as the world's highest motorable pass, is included if your itinerary covers the Nubra Valley route. Mandatory acclimatisation at Leh (3,524 m) for 48 hours is built into the schedule before any high-pass excursion.

booking

We recommend booking at least 60 days in advance for October–February departures, which are peak season. Heritage hotel categories fill quickly. We can accommodate last-minute bookings (7–14 days) but room category choices may be limited.

Yes. We operate departures year-round and specifically hold hotel inventory during UK, Australian, and Canadian school holidays (Easter, summer, and October half-term). Booking 90–120 days ahead is recommended for school-holiday departures — heritage hotels at Ranthambore and Jaipur fill first.

Yes. Women's India Discovery is available for solo travellers, pairs, and small groups of up to 8 women. The guiding and hotel arrangements are identical regardless of group size. We occasionally organise small-group departures (6–8 women) where guests join a set itinerary — contact us if you are interested in a small-group departure date.

wellness

Basic Ayurvedic treatments (Abhyanga massage, Shirodhara) are performed by trained Ayurvedic therapists, not licensed medical practitioners. If you have a specific health condition requiring therapeutic Panchakarma, we can arrange a medically supervised retreat at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala as an upgrade.

A 2-hour Ayurvedic treatment session (Abhyanga full-body massage followed by Shirodhara oil-pouring therapy) at a Kerala Ayurveda Gram or equivalent traditional institute is included. The session is conducted by certified Ayurvedic therapists. A consultation with an Ayurvedic physician (20 minutes) is available as a supplement.

Yes. We include one morning yoga session at a riverside ashram (Assi Ghat) on the final full day. 2-hour and full-day meditation courses are available at Benares Hindu University or private ashrams as optional extensions. Please specify your interest at booking and we arrange the programme.

customisation

Yes — bespoke customisation is the foundation of this product. Tell us your interests (architecture, textiles, cooking, wildlife, spiritual) and we restructure the days accordingly. The route stays the same; the activities within it are tailored. No change fees for customisation requests made at booking.

Yes. Toronto & Niagara Highlights is the western anchor of Eastern Canada Icons — the full 10-night Eastern Canada circuit continues via Via Rail train to Montreal (5 hours) and Quebec City (3 hours from Montreal). The combination covers Canada's complete French-English cultural corridor from Niagara to the St. Lawrence River.

Yes. The reverse sequence (Hampi → Goa) works equally well and is sometimes preferred for guests arriving from South India. The only consideration is Goa hotel check-in timing — we adjust the itinerary direction at no extra charge if you prefer the alternative sequence.

Yes. The reverse sequence (Vancouver → Rockies → Toronto → Niagara Falls → Montréal → Québec City) is available and works equally well. Some guests prefer to start with the mountain scenery and finish in the cultural cities. The only difference is the internal flight direction — pricing is comparable.

Yes. Ranthambore (2 nights) is a natural extension between Jaipur and Varanasi — it adds a tiger safari before the spiritual immersion in Varanasi. Kerala (4 nights) can be added after Varanasi via a domestic flight to Kochi. We provide a combined quote covering the full extended circuit.

Yes. Victoria (ferry from Tsawwassen, 1.5 hours) can be added as 1–2 nights from Vancouver. Whistler (Highway 99, Sea-to-Sky road, 2 hours from Vancouver) can be added as 1 night for skiing in winter or mountain biking in summer. The full expanded circuit is our Vancouver Victoria Whistler Discovery package.

dining

Yes. GoldLeaf service includes full gourmet breakfast and lunch served in the glass-dome dining car on both rail days. Dinner on the Kamloops overnight is included at a local restaurant. All hotel breakfasts throughout the package are included.

Yes. All properties on this circuit are accustomed to Indian families and offer full vegetarian and children's menus. South Indian breakfast (idli, dosa, upma) is available everywhere. We can also arrange packed lunch boxes (paratha, dry curry, fruit) for the Munnar and Periyar excursion days.

Breakfast daily at the hotel is included. We include 2 curated dinner experiences: a rooftop dinner at a heritage restaurant in Jaipur and a Mughal feast experience in Agra. Remaining meals are at your leisure — our guide recommends venues at every price point.

health

Yes. Pilanesberg is entirely malaria-free — located in the Northwest Province outside the malaria-risk belt of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. This makes it the preferred safari destination for families with children and guests who prefer not to take anti-malarial medication. Kruger National Park is a higher-intensity safari experience but does require malaria prophylaxis.

Yes. A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for Kenya entry from all countries. The vaccination should ideally be received 10 days before departure for full immunity. The certificate has lifetime validity (changed from 10-year validity in 2016). We send a vaccination reminder with the booking confirmation.

permits

Indian nationals require no permit for the main Leh circuit. Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, and Dah-Hanu require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) — obtainable online or at Leh DC Office in 1–2 hours. Foreign nationals require an ILP for Pangong and Nubra, and a Protected Area Permit (PAP) for some outer zones. We arrange all permits before your excursion days.

celebration

Yes. We specialise in milestone celebrations. Private rooftop Taj Mahal sunset dinners, royal haveli banquets with live folk entertainment, and surprise rose-petal room décor are all arranged through our hospitality partners. These are confirmed before departure — we do not rely on on-the-ground improvisation for special occasions.

food

Yes. India is extremely well-served for vegetarian and Jain dining. All hotels on this circuit offer dedicated vegetarian and Jain menus. Please notify us at booking and we confirm with each property in advance.

accessibility

Yes, with some physical considerations. Monument steps and uneven stone paths require reasonable mobility. We can arrange wheelchair-accessible vehicles at any city. The houseboat is at water level and requires a step-down boarding — we assist all guests. Pace is deliberately not rushed.

ethics

Yes. We use only the Periyar Tiger Reserve boat safari and the Guruvayur elephant sanctuary — both are government regulated. We do not offer elephant rides or any contact activity that requires training chains. Your coordinator can explain our wildlife ethics policy in detail before the visit.

dietary

Absolutely. Kerala's culinary tradition is naturally suited to vegetarian guests — the sadhya feast (20-dish banana leaf meal), puttu, avial, and appam are all vegetarian staples. We flag vegetarian preference to every hotel, houseboat, and restaurant on the route. You will eat extremely well.

Yes. All our Havelock resort restaurants serve a full Indian vegetarian menu. Fresh fish and seafood are the local specialty but purely vegetarian guests are well catered for. Jain meals (without root vegetables) can be arranged with 24 hours' notice at most properties.

Dubai is extremely well-equipped for Indian vegetarian travellers. Indian cuisine restaurants are present in every district — Karama and Bur Dubai have entire streets of South and North Indian restaurants. Our recommended restaurant list covers pure vegetarian, Jain, and South Indian options across all 4 days.

Little India (Tekka Market, Mustafa Centre) has a full range of South and North Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurants. All our Singapore hotels are near Little India or have Indian restaurant options. Pure vegetarian restaurants include Saravana Bhavan (Little India), Komala's (Race Course Road), and several Gujarati thaali options.

Yes. Bali has a significant vegetarian and vegan food culture — restaurants in Ubud, Seminyak, and Canggu are among the best vegetarian dining destinations in Asia. Hindu temple food (nasi campur) often includes vegetarian variants. We provide a restaurant recommendation list sorted by dietary preference.

Yes. All Maldivian resort restaurants offer vegetarian and Indian menu options — many have a dedicated Indian breakfast and dinner section. Jain meals (no root vegetables, no onion/garlic) can be arranged with 24 hours' notice at most properties. We flag all dietary requirements to the resort at the time of confirmation.

Japan's food culture is largely based on fish, meat, and dashi (fish stock) — finding strictly vegetarian Japanese food is genuinely challenging. However, Indian restaurants are present in Tokyo and Kyoto. We include 2 dinners at recommended Indian restaurants in the itinerary. Japanese shojin ryori (Buddhist temple cuisine, fully vegan) is a remarkable alternative that we arrange as an optional experience.

Cape Town has excellent Indian-origin South African cuisine (Cape Malay curries, vegetarian bunny chow) and a growing vegetarian restaurant scene in the City Bowl. Checkers and Pick n Pay supermarkets have extensive vegetarian and Indian grocery sections for self-catering at the hotel. We include 1 Cape Malay curry dinner as a cultural culinary experience.

shopping

Yes. Both are included as guided visits. Dubai Mall (1,200+ stores) is the shopping highlight for luxury brands and food court. The Deira Gold Souk (300+ jewellers, open 10 am–10 pm) is the authentic gold buying experience. Our guide can advise on fair gold pricing — the price per gram is set by the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange; the only negotiable element is the making charge.

budget

Scandinavia is premium-priced: a restaurant dinner costs €40–70 per person, a coffee is €5–7, and public transport is €2–4 per journey. We include breakfasts and 2 dinners in the package. Budget approximately €80–100 per day for meals, transport, and incidentals. We provide a pre-departure budget guide specific to each city.

timing

Niagara Falls operates year-round. Summer (June–August) is the most vibrant — Maid of the Mist boat is operating, all attractions are open, and Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries are at peak. Winter (December–February) brings the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights (spectacular evening illuminations from November to January). Spring (April–May) sees the falls at their most powerful from snowmelt.
