About this journey
This private eleven-day journey focuses on the India that lies beyond the classic tourist trail — the India of the sacred Ganges, of dawn rituals performed for thousands of years, of ashrams and the Himalayas' first foothills. Begin in Delhi before flying to Varanasi, the holiest city in Hinduism, where you witness the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony from a private boat and take an early-morning sunrise cruise along the ghats. Continue north to Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world, perched in the foothills of the Himalayas at the confluence of the Ganges and Chandrabhaga rivers. Time here is spent at leisure — yoga classes, ashram visits, riverside meditation or a white-water rafting excursion are all possible. The tour concludes with a night in Agra for a Taj Mahal visit, one of the world's most extraordinary monuments, before returning to Delhi. Private vehicle and specialist guides throughout.

India Spiritual Journey lived up to every promise
We researched this style of trip for two years before booking. The decision to go with Globalduniya was right — they understood what we were looking for and delivered. Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra and Ananda in the Himalayas were the two standout properties.

Two years of research and then this review — we are very moved. Amervilas and Ananda at either end of a spiritual journey is a thoughtful combination. Thank you, Charlotte and Ben.

Rishikesh yoga and Varanasi ghats — a profound India journey
We combined the Ananda in the Himalayas retreat with the Varanasi spiritual circuit and the contrast between the two was itself meaningful. Ananda is a world of calm, Varanasi is a world of intense living. Both were extraordinary. The Taj Nadesar Palace was a magnificent surprise.

Region: Uttar Pradesh, India.
October to March offers the clearest air and most comfortable temperatures for ghat walks. Monsoon floods the lower ghats but the spiritual atmosphere is extraordinary.
