Practical tips from your guide
- 💡Pre-book the Ranthambore safari online through us — family-allocated zones have limited Gypsy seats and fill 60–90 days ahead
- 💡Delhi's National Rail Museum (Sector 11, Chanakyapuri) is genuinely engaging for children aged 6–14 and rarely crowded
- 💡Jaipur's Amber Fort has an elephant ride that has been replaced by a heritage Jeep — children still love the ride up to the ramparts
- 💡Pack light, quick-dry clothes and a sun hat; mornings are cool but afternoons can reach 30°C in October–February
- 💡Carry a small bag of unsalted peanuts — helpful for bonding with monkeys at temple sites (from a safe distance, supervised)

The best decision we made for our family
India had been on our bucket list for years but we kept delaying because of the children — now 8 and 11. This easy-pace family itinerary was the answer. The sites were chosen for their child engagement value as much as their heritage significance. The Taj Mahal's story (a love story the children could understand), the Amber Fort's elephant-mounted royal processional history, the bazaar treasure hunt in Jaipur — all landed perfectly. Our guide Suresh was brilliant with the children. He made every historical explanation accessible and fun without dumbing it down. India is absolutely a family destination with the right planning.
Response from Globalduniya · Rohan Verma · India Operations Director
Lisa and Tom, the decision to time this trip for when the children are 8 and 11 was a good one — old enough to engage with the history, young enough to find the sheer spectacle exciting. Suresh's approach with children of that age is exactly what the itinerary is designed around. Thank you.

Three generations — grandparents, parents and six-year-old — all happy
Travelling with a mixed-age group that included my 68-year-old mother-in-law, my husband and our six-year-old daughter required careful organisation. Globalduniya designed the easy-pace itinerary specifically around our group. The driving was always in an appropriately large vehicle, lunch breaks were always at a restaurant with clean facilities and cooling, and activities were always given with optional escalation levels. Our six-year-old's favourite moment was feeding a elephant at the ethical sanctuary. My mother-in-law's was the Taj at dawn. Mine was seeing both of them happy.
Response from Globalduniya · Rohan Verma · India Operations Director
Fiona, three-generation family groups with a six-year-old and a grandmother in the same vehicle require very deliberate planning. We are so pleased the itinerary delivered moments for each of you. The elephant sanctuary visit for young children is something we have refined over many family departures.

India with children can be done — Globalduniya proves it
Every friend with children warned us against India. Globalduniya's family itinerary addresses precisely the concerns those friends raised: the pacing, the hygiene, the accommodation quality, the guide's ability to keep children interested. Our boys (7 and 10) were fascinated by the Amber Fort's hidden tunnels, the Qutb Minar's height, and the camel ride at Pushkar. The hotels all had pools for afternoon recovery, the food was introduced gradually (mild curries, dal, naan — nothing intimidating), and the family guide Meena was patient, warm and endlessly entertaining for the children.
Response from Globalduniya · Rohan Verma · India Operations Director
Andrew and Natasha, converting the sceptics among your friend group is a challenge we take seriously — India with children requires the right operator and the right pace. Meena's ability to make 7 and 10-year-olds genuinely curious about Mughal history is one of her great strengths. Thank you.

Teenagers who said they did not want to go came back converted
Our 14 and 16-year-old were deeply unenthusiastic about India as a destination. By day two of the trip, they were photographing everything and asking our guide constant questions about Mughal history, Jain architecture and Indian cuisine. The food challenge we set — trying one new dish per day — became a family competition. The cooking class in Jaipur was a particular highlight. Globalduniya adapted the itinerary in real time when our older child wanted more time at Amber Fort. That flexibility is what makes a guided trip with children worthwhile.
Response from Globalduniya · Rohan Verma · India Operations Director
Mark and Jennifer, reluctant teenagers who return as enthusiasts are one of the outcomes we work hardest to deliver. The cooking class in Jaipur is specifically designed to give teenagers a hands-on connection to the culture that passive sightseeing cannot achieve. We are delighted it worked so well.

Our children aged 9 and 12 were engaged for every single day
We were nervous about bringing our children to India — the heat, the sensory overload, the hygiene. Globalduniya addressed every concern before we left and delivered a family trip that our children describe as their favourite holiday ever, displacing Disneyland Paris. The camel safari at Jaisalmer, the elephant sanctuary visit near Jaipur, and the cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk with our family guide Priya were highlights. The pacing was perfect for children — no more than one major site per morning, always with a rest period, always with a hotel pool for the afternoon. We will return as a family.
Response from Globalduniya · Rohan Verma · India Operations Director
Simon and Rachel, hearing that your children rank this above Disneyland Paris is one of the greatest compliments a family travel specialist can receive. Priya is one of our most experienced family guides and her ability to engage children of different ages and interests is exceptional. Welcome back.

An epic trip with small glitches
This was our first family trip to India and an unforgettable one. The Amber Fort and Jaipur’s royal vibe were extraordinary. The Taj Mahal deserves its fame—it was more gorgeous than expected! Ranthambore’s safari was a unique experience, though we only saw deer and no tiger. ITC Mughal offered excellent hospitality. However, the Delhi hotel felt outdated, and some long drives could have been better organized. Overall, we enjoyed the trip despite minor issues.
Response from Globalduniya · Priya Nair · Regional Operations Manager
Thank you for your review, Ben! We appreciate your comments about the hotels and transportation details—they are extremely helpful for future planning. We are glad the iconic sites left a strong impression on your family. We hope to welcome you back to India again.
About India
▾
Region: North India, India.
October to February is the most family-friendly window — comfortable temperatures, open parks, and school holiday alignment for most international families. Avoid March–May when afternoons become very hot.
Questions about this package
There is no minimum age. The itinerary is specifically designed to be suitable from age 3 upwards. Hotel pool access, child-friendly meals, and a paced daily schedule (no more than one major activity per morning) make it accessible for families travelling with toddlers. We advise against this circuit for infants under 18 months due to heat and dust sensitivity.
Yes. We operate departures year-round and specifically hold hotel inventory during UK, Australian, and Canadian school holidays (Easter, summer, and October half-term). Booking 90–120 days ahead is recommended for school-holiday departures — heritage hotels at Ranthambore and Jaipur fill first.
Yes — every property selected for India for Families: Easy Pace has a swimming pool. Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Ranthambore hotels all have full-size pools (heated in winter). This is a non-negotiable standard on this product — we do not use heritage havelis without pool access for family bookings.
