Choosing your sacred India route

How can I combine Varanasi with a private India tour?

Varanasi pairs naturally with the Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra, Jaipur — as an extension. We typically position Varanasi before or after Delhi, 2–3 nights minimum to experience the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, the old city, and Sarnath (where the Buddha first taught, 13 km from Varanasi). 10–12 nights total covers the Golden Triangle plus Varanasi properly.

What does the Ganga Aarti involve for an international visitor?

The evening Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is a public riverside ceremony — no restrictions on international visitors. Viewing from a boat on the river is the most immersive perspective and avoids the crowd on the ghats. We arrange private boat positions so you experience the ceremony at close range, with your guide providing historical and ritual context.

Is Rishikesh suitable to include in a spiritual India itinerary?

Where we have operational inventory, yes. Rishikesh is 3–4 hours from Delhi by road and can be included at the start or end of a north India programme. It suits travellers with a yoga, meditation, or Himalayan foothills interest. It is not well-suited as a standalone destination for most international itineraries — it works best paired with Delhi and Haridwar.

What is the Buddhist India circuit for international visitors?

The core Buddha Circuit covers Bodh Gaya (Enlightenment), Sarnath (first teaching), Kushinagar (Parinirvana), Rajgir, and Nalanda — all in the Bihar and eastern UP region. This is a distinct programme from the Golden Triangle and takes 6–8 nights at minimum. We design it as a private scholarly journey for Buddhist practitioners, scholars, and those seeking the original sites of the Dharma.

Are temple visits included in spiritual India tours?

Yes — expert-guided visits to major temples, ghats, and sacred sites are central to spiritual India programmes. Our guides provide historical, philosophical, and ritual context. We do not arrange VIP or reserved access to restricted inner sanctums beyond what is publicly available, and we do not guarantee priest-led ceremonies.

What should I know about visiting India's sacred sites as a foreign visitor?

Major sacred sites in India are generally accessible to foreign visitors. Some inner sanctums have restrictions. Our guides brief you on dress codes, etiquette, footwear requirements, and photography rules before each site. We recommend modest, comfortable clothing that covers shoulders and knees for all heritage and sacred site visits.
