Sonmarg ka glacier trek — family ke sath ek adventure
Sonmarg mein glacier tak horse ride aur walk — bachhe puri tarah enjoy kar rahe the. Glacier ke paas pahunche toh ice dekhke dono bahut excited ho gaye. Dal Lake houseboat pe raat bhi wonderful thi — bachon ne pehli baar kisi nahi soye pani ke upar pe! Overall bahut memorable trip.

About India
▾
Region: Kashmir, India.
Best time to visit: April, May, June, September, October.
May to September is ideal for families in Kashmir. School summer holidays (May–June) align perfectly with the best weather window. Avoid October onwards for families with young children.
Questions about this package
Yes. Dal Lake is calm and shallow near the houseboat moorings. Life jackets in children's sizes are available and mandatory for children under 12 on our shikara rides. The boat moves very slowly on the canal routes — there is no water sports activity or rapid current involved.
Yes. The Gulmarg excursion includes pony rides at the meadow for children under 12 — one of the most popular elements of the package with families. Pony operators are from the Gujjar community and our team supervises the selection of a safe, well-fed pony. Adult guests can also ride.
May to September is the ideal family window — school summer holidays align with peak Gulmarg meadow access and the cleanest weather. July is the most popular month. We recommend late June or early September to avoid peak-month crowds at Gulmarg gondola.
Frequently asked questions
We recommend booking at least 3–4 months in advance for peak season travel (October–March). For off-peak travel, 6–8 weeks is generally sufficient. Bespoke itineraries need a minimum 8 weeks for full confirmation.
