Day-by-day itinerary

Your soulful journey begins as you arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) in Varanasi, where you will be greeted by your private chauffeur. You'll be transferred in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle to the BrijRama Palace, one of Varanasi's most distinguished heritage hotels, perched majestically on Darbhanga Ghat with sweeping views of the Ganges. Upon check-in, you are welcomed with traditional rituals and escorted to your elegantly designed river-facing suite. Take time to relax and immerse yourself in the grandeur of your surroundings. As evening descends, prepare for a truly divine experience. Witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Conducted by Hindu priests, this ritual involves ethereal chants, incense, and the glow of hundreds of lamps being offered to the sacred river. Afterward, return to BrijRama Palace for a gourmet dinner featuring regional Banarasi delicacies complemented by impeccable service, while magical views of the illuminated ghats add to your dining experience. Highlights: - Private luxury transfer to BrijRama Palace - Iconic Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat - Exquisite dinner overlooking the Ganges

After a sumptuous breakfast at the opulent BrijRama Palace, overlooking the sacred Ganges, your day begins with a guided visit to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this spiritual epicenter is a masterpiece of intricate architecture and deep religious significance, drawing pilgrims from across the globe. Your expert guide will share fascinating stories about the temple's history and its role in Hindu spirituality, as you soak in the vibrant energy of this holy site. Next, embark on a scenic 35-minute drive to Sarnath, a tranquil haven that holds immense significance in Buddhist history. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings that exude centuries of wisdom. The Sarnath Archaeological Museum offers a closer look at ancient artifacts, including the famous Ashoka Pillar, a symbol of India's heritage. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at The Palate, located in the luxurious Gateway Hotel, where the chef crafts exquisite dishes blending traditional flavors with modern flair. Afterward, return to BrijRama Palace for an afternoon of relaxation. Indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment at the hotel's wellness center or simply unwind in the regal ambiance of this heritage property. In the evening, relish the serene atmosphere of the palace as you prepare for another day of discovery.

Rise before dawn and set out for a captivating sunrise boat ride on the sacred Ganges River, an experience that embodies the spiritual essence of Varanasi. Glide past the iconic Ghats as the city awakens, witnessing pilgrims performing age-old rituals and priests chanting prayers to greet the new day. The interplay of golden sunlight and serene waters creates an unforgettable spectacle. Return to the opulent BrijRama Palace, one of the citys most historic hotels, for a lavish breakfast featuring freshly prepared kachoris, jalebis, and seasonal fruits. Later, embark on a journey to Ramnagar Fort, a 30-minute drive along the river. This 18th-century sandstone fort, built by the Maharaja of Banaras, offers a glimpse into royal life with its museum displaying rare artifacts, including vintage weaponry, timepieces, and ceremonial palanquins. The fort also provides panoramic views of the Ganges. For lunch, treat your palate to the rich flavors of Banarasi cuisine at Baati Chokha, known for its traditional dishes like litti chokha and chokha made with roasted eggplant and spiced potatoes. The afternoon is yours to unwind. Explore the tranquil courtyards of BrijRama Palace or rejuvenate with a centuries-old Ayurvedic therapy at the on-site spa, a perfect conclusion to a culturally immersive day.

Your final morning in Varanasi begins with a sumptuous breakfast at BrijRama Palace, a heritage hotel overlooking the serene Ganges. Indulge in a carefully curated selection of local and international dishes served in the regal Darbhanga Dining Room, where you can reflect on the spiritual and cultural richness experienced during your journey. Take in the tranquil views of the river one last time or enjoy a quiet moment in the hotel's rooftop terrace before preparing for departure. After breakfast, a leisurely check-out ensures you have ample time to soak in the grandeur of this 200-year-old palace, with its intricately designed interiors and warm hospitality. A private luxury vehicle will await you at the hotel's entrance for your seamless transfer to Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport (VNS). The 45-minute drive provides a final glimpse of Varanasi's vibrant streets, sacred ghats, and timeless energy. Your guide or chauffeur will assist with luggage, ensuring a hassle-free departure experience. As you bid farewell to India's spiritual capital, carry with you unforgettable memories of the Ganga Aarti, the bustling bazaars, and the intimate moments of connection to this ancient city. Globalduniya's dedicated team remains committed to making your departure stress-free, ensuring your spiritual journey concludes with the same elegance and care it began.

Practical tips from your guide

  • 💡The boat is the only way to properly see Varanasi — hire the same boatman for all 3 days to build a relationship and see more
  • 💡Manikarnika Ghat is a working cremation site — observe respectfully from the boat or the ghat edge, never photograph
  • 💡Banaras Hindu University campus contains one of India's finest art museums — free, almost never mentioned by guides
  • 💡Ramnagar Fort across the river houses the Maharaja's collection of vintage cars and arms — genuinely unexpected
  • 💡Varanasi silk: buy only at the government emporium on Viswanath Lane — everywhere else, assume you are overpaying

Ganga Aarti — spiritual power jo camera mein nahi pakad sakti

Varanasi mein Dashashwamedh Ghat pe Ganga Aarti dekhna ek aisa experience hai jo sirf body se nahi aatma se feel karte hain. Guide ne aarti ke har mudra aur mantra ka meaning bataya jo experience ko aur gehara bana diya. Subah ki boat ride mein ghaton ka jeevant darshan — dono experiences life-changing.

Response from Globalduniya · Priya Nair · Regional Operations Manager

Sunita aur Devendra, aarti ke har mudra aur mantra ka arth samajhna — yahi toh guide ke sath Varanasi aur deeper ho jaata hai. Aatma se feel karna — bilkul sahi description hai. Shukriya!

Varanasi Spiritual Journey ne aatma ko chhu liya

Ganga aarti dekhna aur subah boat se ghaton ka darshan karna — yeh dono experiences insaan ko andar se badal dete hain. Guide ne Hindu philosophy itni saral bhasha mein samjhaya ki hamaari koi bhi cheez clear ho gayi. Kashi Vishwanath Corridor mein darshan bhi bahut acha tha.

Response from Globalduniya · Priya Nair · Regional Operations Manager

About India

Region: Uttar Pradesh, India.

Best time to visit: October, November, December, January, February, March.

October to February for comfortable Varanasi exploration. Monsoon brings the Ganga dangerously high against the lower ghats — some are submerged. October and November see the spectacular Diwali and Dev Deepawali festivals.

Questions about this package

The Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is performed every single evening of the year at sunset (approximately 6:45–7:30 pm). It is a private Hindu foundation's daily ritual, not a tourist performance. Major festivals (Diwali, Dev Deepawali in November) see an expanded version attended by tens of thousands.

Photography of the ghats, Ganga, temples, and the Aarti ceremony is welcomed and respectful. Photography at Manikarnika Ghat (the main cremation site) is prohibited out of respect for grieving families — our guide will explain the boundary clearly before you arrive. Photography of sadhus requires asking permission first (usually a small donation is appropriate).

Yes. We include one morning yoga session at a riverside ashram (Assi Ghat) on the final full day. 2-hour and full-day meditation courses are available at Benares Hindu University or private ashrams as optional extensions. Please specify your interest at booking and we arrange the programme.

Frequently asked questions

We recommend booking at least 3–4 months in advance for peak season travel (October–March). For off-peak travel, 6–8 weeks is generally sufficient. Bespoke itineraries need a minimum 8 weeks for full confirmation.
